Candlelight Processional Dinner - Watching & Waiting

Thanks for the info! I was hoping Via Napoli might be included (I'll ask when I call anyway); we'll likely try for Rose & Crown for lunch as we have a Le Cellier for dinner the same night already and this will be a better value for out of pocket. I will be glad to get this done early Thursday AM as this is one of the final details for our December trip. :cool1:

Well, I guess I'll try on-line first, but I expect that CM who said we could do that was wrong since it is not currently a listed option. They'd have to make a new listing for it.

I'm now correcting my previous paragraph. They do have the CPP listed under Disney Dining but for now it only shows the dining phone number to call. I suppose that during the wee hours on the 26th they could program that section to allow online booking. Still, I will be surprised.

Just spoke to a CM who said that at this very moment they can not open the CP info which is pretty good indication the site is being updated tonight and should have complete narrator/price info at 6:00 am tomorrow. However she was adamant that reservations must be made by calling. On line won't be an option.:santa::santa::santa:

I too was hoping Via Napoli would be on the list this year.

Time to start looking the menus over again to make a 1st & 2nd choice option.

Would going to the 8:15 show be pushing to too close to make it over to the Illuminations viewing area at a decent time being that it is clear on the other side of the water :confused3

I was wondering that to... esp if the fireworks start at 9-9:30... unless the special seating is right at the theater.. is that possible??? that would be nice... the show ends and the fireworks start in the background.

anyone have any info on this from last year??
my main issue is do i want to do the 6:45 show or 8:15 show?? I'm currently thinking the 6:45..

Last year the reserved space was between the 2 shops at the spot where the path from Future World intersects with with path around World Showcase (it is called Showcase Plaza). It is directly across the lake from the CP, so a good hike. Also, all 3 CP shows share the same special viewing spot. If the special viewing area is important to you then the 6:45 showing is probably a safer bet.

Last year we did the 6:45 show and then headed over to the fireworks viewing reserved area. I kind of felt like it was a cattle call which was poorly manned by the cm's. Lets just say they kept asking loudly for everyone to move up to make room for the other guests. By the time the last cp show (8 pm) of guests arrrived they were way in the back.

We bought a snack from the Norway Bakery to eat while we were there. Everyone was looking at us kind of wide eyed like (oh I wish we did that too) as once it got crowded it was hard to get out of the space (kinda like a salmon swimming upstream.:) Plan accordingly.

Ditto. There was no way that we could have made it to the reserved section across the lake following the 8:15 show last year.

Is that based on Illuminations starting when it usually does at 9:00 p.m., or later at 9:30 p.m.? (It's scheduled for 9:30 p.m. on our planned night.)

I was hoping to go to the 8:15 p.m. CP show, then to the seating area for Illuminations at 9:30 p.m. Is this feasible?

Once I stop getting busy signals... and the computerized voice picks up... what's the quickest way to get the operator I want?

The show,if it starts on time at 8:15,takes close to an hour. If you stay for the whole thing, there is no way that you'll get to the viewing area in time for Illuminations.

Illuminations began at 9:30 pm. We had gotten in line for CPP seats early and had great seats close to the stage. See answer below.

This is correct. It was also a Saturday night when we went last year and EPCOT was very crowded. We settled for viewing Illuminations from around the 3rd or 4th row back from the railing on the bridge between France and England. We only saw the high fireworks and heard the show. We could not see the fireworks directly on the lake.

I see. I thought I'd read somewhere that the CP show was only 40-45 minutes, so I thought it would be done by about 9 p.m., and we'd have 30 minutes to get to the seating area for Illuminations.

If the show takes an hour, though, this is not going to work. Why do they advertise a special seating area for Illuminations if it's impossible for the people in the last show to make it?

Maybe we need to go to the 6:45 p.m. show instead? I hate having to eat that early, though.

One more question--if you get a CP reservation for the 6:45 p.m. show, and for whatever reason don't get in (maybe your dinner runs long and you get down there late), can you use your tickets for the next show at 8:15 p.m., or are they only good for one show time?

No, your tickets can only be used for the time assigned. Your dining time is early enough to give you plenty of time to dine and get to the queues. The reason CP packages fill up is that there are only a certain number of tickets given out for each show, so if you don't show up for your show, you missed your seating.

can anyone tell me how long a walk it is from Le Cellier to the theatre where the CP is held? Hoping for the 8:15 show so dinner between 5-6pm latest we would get out is 7:30 from dinner. Wondering how long the walk is and what kind of line we would be facing at that point.

Other option is Tutto Italia where maybe we can see the line forming from outside the restaurant. In other words, linger at dinner and have someone going outside every so often to check on the length of the line. Once it gets long then it is time to leave the restaurant and go stand in it.

How's that for strategy?

Thanks folks.
