Can someone please give me the 411 on the Candle Light Processional. What it is and what it involves. We will be there from November 30th til December 9th and from what I've read it will take place on Dec 1st and 2nd.

I can use any info, just want to know what to expect.

  • 12/02 - 12/4: Dennis Franz
    Community Relations Night, Dec. 2nd – 5:00 p.m. show
  • 12/5 - 12/7: Monique Coleman
  • 12/8 - 12/10: Steven Curtis Chapman
Narration and Choir. Tells the Story of Christmas. I attended last year. The first seats go to the guests with the dinner package, then the rest of the guests are seated. If you don't have a package make sure you are in line at least a half an hour before. You will most likely get in but your seating is going to be to the back. If you have a package try and get there early for the best seats, they fill up very fast. There is more information at the disney events or holidays page at the dis home page.

Popeyeohoh: Cool! I wasn't aware they were doing the Candlelight Processional for more than one weekend. Are you sure that info isn't for WDW?

Anyone know when they are going to open up the dining line for reservations?

Thanks!

Is this info from WDW or DLR?

This is for WDW and does not apply to DL. DL has not officially announced anything regarding its Candlelight Processional. But CP will be on Dec. 1 & 2.

That's okay Popeyeohoh. I've been itching to make my reservations for dinner and keep checking the boards for any info. I am only assuming that cast members get first dibs on info? I've also been checking the AP website and nothing there yet either.

So just to make sure I get this. The CP is a storytelling :coffee: about Christmas from celebs :cool2: or other, is is The Night Before Christmas story:santa: ? And they offer a dinner package with itpopcorn:: .

So where do they have this @ DL :wizard: or DCA pirate: and how much does it cost for the dinner package and where do you call to make res. Also does everything kinda stop  while they are doing this or can you just pass on it and go on with other rides:yay: . We were planning on doind Priority Seating for Fantasmic:wizard: and The Holiday tour:santa: , we only want to pay extra for 2 things which 2 would you do:confused3 ? Anyone:confused: ?

Sorry for so many questions just want to know if its worth it or not to make this a must do:hippie: .

Yes, it the Christmas Story about Baby Jesus. When the open it up for booking and you make a dinner reservation at priority seating restaurants for either Dec 1 or 2nd, you get seats up near the front. I've only been once but they held it at the train station area near the front of the park at Disneyland. Disney Dining is who you call but as far as I know, they're not taking reservations quite yet.
I wouldn't say "everything kinda stops" but a LOT of people come to the CP. If you want to skip it and go on the rides, I'm sure the lines will be much shorter.

To choose, or not to choose.....I am making a special trip to So Cal to see the CP. I live in Nor Cal and am not a Church going person on a weekly basis, but there is something magical and spiritual about the CP that draws me in. When we sat there two years ago and those 500+ choir members were walking down an unlit Main Street with candles in their hands singing Christmas Carols, it brought a tear to my eye. It's just beautiful.

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much that does help. It sounds like something we want to see.

Do you know how much the dinner packages cost, where do we sign up for it?

We had dinner for two at Hooke's Point two years ago and the cost was around $80. We had Steak and Lobster and a glass of wine each. Not bad for a wonderful meal and great seats. We had the middle dinner seating and ended up sitting front row center for the CP.
