I apologize if I didn't put this in the right location...

We are planning a trip for May/June 2015. We love staying on-site, however, my Dad has a timeshare close by and may be offering us a week there. So, if I book a package through Disney in order to schedule by ADRs, can we later cancel it and keep the same ADRs?

To make ADRs do you just have to have a room booked? Or do you have to have tickets?

Also, say we decide to stay off-site at my Dad's timeshare and purchase tickets from Undercover Tourist. Could I link those tickets to MDE, and then cancel by Disney package or room, and STILL keep the same ADRs that I originally booked at 180 days?

Thanks for your help!

You don't need to stay onsite to have ADRs.

Cancelling or changing a room reservation does nothing whatsoever to ADRs. They would have to be cancelled separately.

The previous poster is trying to say that you do not need to have a Disney resort reservation at all to book ADRs at 180 days. You need one to book 180 + 10, so if what you are suggesting is that you book a resort package just so you can book ADRs at 180 + 10, then cancel the package because your intent all along was to stay offsite, that's something else.

Ok thanks. I thought I needed something, tickets, room, etc. linked to MDE to book ADRs that early. But now that I think of it, that wouldn't make sense for AP holders or those close by...

I have no intent on cheating the system by booking a package to book 180 + 10 just to cancel later. Just wanted to see if there were be any repercussions to making the change if we did decide to stay off-site.

Thank you both for your help!

You need tickets linked to book Fastpass Plus, and you must have a WDW resort reservation in order to book the lunch Fastpass at Be Our Guest. But for ADRs, anyone can book them at 180 days, regardless of where they are staying.
