Cancelling our booking is soul destroying!

Hi there, thanks for all your lovely hugs and pixie dust :) William is ok he gets tired and feels the cold more, think thats to do with his medication. He's still driving, while he can, he will be out of commission for a few months after the op so decided to cancel our new car as well as our holiday, no point having a new car and not being able to drive it eh?

I am glad William is ok. When does he have the op?

I know the feeling.
We had to cancel our hoilday last year and we lost over £2000. It's just such a horrible feeling having to ring up and cancel everything

I am glad William is ok. When does he have the op?

Waiting for a letter from the specialist, he wants us to go in and speak about what will happen before, during and after the op, theres a 3 week waiting list for the op. Fingers crossed he doesn't have to wait too much longer.

So sorry to hear you have had to cancel. I send you all my love and hope that williams op goes well and you will soon be able to rearrange your trip.

Hope you manage to get your money back. Also hope your DH recovers quickly

Hi guys, just a wee update, have now got almost everything cancelled, what a carry on, Virgin have to be the most unhelpful people it has ever been my displeasure to meet! Have been tying to cancel our Discovery Cove booking, ended up contacting DC in Orlando (we booked DC through Virgin) they said due to the circumstances they would gladly give us a one time complimentary date change but as we booked through Virgin we would have to call them and ask them to do it. DC were very nice and wished my husband a speedy recovery. Virgins sytems are down AGAIN! What a surprise! :scared1: Last time i phones virgin i spoke with a guy from India, he could hardly speak english and he apologised for not being able to understand me properly and told me he basicaly coultn't help me  I will try again later, "If at first you don't succeed" and all that! :rolleyes1

Got our flights cancelled last night, netflights were very understanding and helpfull :thumbsup2

Got Disney accomodation (Swan, Coronado) cancelled but with a cancellation fee of course ;)

Got our timeshare cancelled no probs aswell and they were very nice and wished Dh well. :)

Just awaiting a letteer from our GP so we can then get the insurance claim under way...Phewwww! :scared:

Thanks for listening to me rambling on:hug: it helps to get it all out ;)

Audrey xXx

aww you're not rambling, I often feel more productive having written it all down and offloaded it does help.
Now it's nearly all sorted you can relax and concentrate on your DH then

Glad everything is getting sorted out. I hate it when call centres have people that you feel cannot understand what you are saying or you cannot understand what they are saying.

Forget to mention I had to phone the Virgin call centre in India yesterday and was dreading it, but the guy was lovely and his English was great.
I'd try again, it was about this time yesterday that I rang.

Well we have tried, tried and tried again, but we still have no definit answer  Virgin were supposed to call us back yesterday but they did not, we stayed by he phone for hours! Eventualy my dh tried to call them back and they then said he would have to phone DC back AGAIN and ask them to either e-mail/fax something in writing so they could be sure that what we said was true, so basicaly they are calling us liars! (Why could they not have asked us this the first second or even fifth time we called them?)

Will have to wait till Monday now as DC supervisors/managers are not back till then :sad2: How much do you want to bet Virgin still won't let us change the date! DC said they would give us 30 days to make up our minds as to which alternative date we wanted (which is excellent!) but that we had to contact Virgin as we booked it through them.

I have lost faith in Virgin, i ALWAYS preferred to fly with them (in PE) above any other airline, but have found their jobs worth attitude to something that was completely out of our control shocking! DO YOU KNOW ONE MAN EVEN ASKED IF MY DAUGHTER AND MYSELF COULDN'T GO ALONE?????????:confused3 This was AFTER explaining that my Dh has to go into hospital for a triple heart bypass!!! I don't think the man even realised where Scotland and Florida were geographicaly  This is why i get so angry when i have to phone call centres and get people that cannot understand what i'm saying (i do not have a broad accent) and don't know anything about the subject i am talking about:mad:

Sorry just had to rant again! I know some of you have never had a problem with Virgin but, as if my stress levels arent high enough these people make my blood boil!!!:headache:

Thanks for listening xXx

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: It's certainly a tough time and so frustrating for you.

Oh Audrey Virgin's call centres are pants :) I always ask to be put through to the English call centre and got a very helpful customer service person.
I'll send you a PM :)

When will virgin realise that the call centres are detrimental to the company :sad2: its shocking that the staff cannot even understand English
