Cancelling BBB - questions

i currently have a BBB reservation for DD4 for our trip next month. Lately we've been watching ride/attraction videos and discussing what is "good for four year olds" and "not fun", etc. I showed her a BBB video and she says she does not want to do it. This is a kid who is usqually all about dress-up, loves having me paint her nails, etc. I have no problem cancelling, but I don't want to cancel now and then we get there and she sees girls made up and wants to do it and then we can't get a reservation. I'm hoping to wait until we get to WDW and gage her opinion. So, questions...

1. Has anyone tried it and had a kid not like it once they got there? What did they/you do? She is usually fine with/enjoys things once she warms up to them, but with a 4-year-old you never know.
2. It's a typical 24-hour cancellation policy or $10 right?
3. Can we just go there in person to cancel (>24 hours in advance), if so can I cancel a MK Ressie at DTD. The hold times when I've called have been long and I'd rather not spend that hold time during them
4. Is there anywhere specific on the boards to post to coordinate cancels? Reservation pickings were slim and if we do cancel I'd love to try to get it to a DISer :-)

Yes, you can go in to cancel, which is a good idea, here's why - My daughter (who also is always about dressing up) said she did not want to do it. When we got there and she saw all the girls with their glitter buns & sashes, she couldn't wait to do it!! I was so happy I did not cancel in advance as it was completely booked up the entire week of our stay. I would personally wait to cancel.

Yep which is why I usually have it around the 3rd day of the trip. My daughter is older and always says, she wants to do it until she ages out; but you just never know. They change like the weather.

My daughter at the time 5 did it this past December and loved it. She had the best time. I would just wait and not cancel yet. I can't imagine a little girl who loves dress up get there and see it and still not want to do it. It's really fun for them.

Thanks to both of you! I have a feeling once she sees it she will want to do it. We'll be at DTD a few days before the appointment so I'll see if we can check out BBB there, or at least point out the girls with makeovers and see what she thinks. I feel like it is something she would really enjoy, but at her age it can just depend on the day.

Sorry, forgot yours in my intial post. Thank you! I am thinking she will enjoy, and I was shocked when I called to book at how tough it was to find a reservation time that worked (probably about 150 days out...), so I certainly don't want to drop it until I know that's what she wants.

I'd hold onto the reservation. She may decide she really wants to do it once she's there. (I on the other hand hope to carefully avoid it with my daughter, as it's beyond our vacation price range!)

It's definately a splurge. She's had a bit of a rough year, so I'm willing to do it if she really wants to. On the other hand if she's not interested when we get there I have no problem cancelling. I'm sure she wouldn't mind picking out a small treat at the Lego store instead :-)
