Is anyone interested in these? I can mail to you. I’m cleaning out a drawer and I’m more of a just safety pin my bib person.

SAFD: I grew up in Sacramento, and we used to make the drive down to Disneyland often. After college, I bought myself an annual pass and used to go 4 to 5 times a year. Then when I met my wife, we would go down frequently. When we had kids, we took them down often also, even had birthday parties there. We have two bricks in the esplanade between the two parks. So DL has a special place for us. But since we moved to Texas, we go to WDW may more now. When they announced earlier this year that this year's DL Half Marathon weekend was probably going to be the last one for a long time, I had to jump on the opportunity to get my C2C medal. So I will be making the trek from WDW for MW, then at the end of the month, making the trip to DL.

Anyone changing their resorts with the release of the new discounts? Oddly enough, it was more expensive for us with the discount. We booked standard room and doesn’t appear to have that room type still available. I’ve been on hold this morning, to see if they can apply the discount to our room type but I’m not optimistic.

Same. I played around with it this morning assuming I could get something moderate or even deluxe for cheaper or the same price as the fairly high rate at the Swan I currently have. And nothing was cheaper. Swan it is.

We wanted the swan, as we are titanium members and consider the swan our 2nd home. Sadly, the availability stinks. I check every day, hoping some days will be released. So far, not much luck. Would have to move resorts marathon day and that’s just not an option for me. I did chat with a Disney cast member and they told me to keep checking back as well, to see if more room availability opens up with the discounts applied. We are at CBR in a standard, and the only option they have now is a preferred room. Sigh

I've been checking Swan/ Dolphin daily as well and the availability actually seems to be getting worse. The last few years I'd been able to get a room by late September. Usually its due to blocks of rooms being held for a conference but given that at least Thursday and Sunday are sold out I'm not sure anymore (Monday is almost sold out so maybe Sunday/ Monday are due to a conference and the rooms won't release until later this fall)

Same here! I’m okay with a split stay, but the availability is so crummy it doesn’t make sense to do a split stay. Thursday and Sunday are not options at any of the swolphin hotels.

I've had random luck with Swolfin rooms on Expedia. I think they have their own block, or used to.
Interesting. Do you get to apply your Marriott status, earn points if you book through a third party like Expedia? We are points greedy so if we can’t earn points, it greatly reduces the benefit of staying there for us.

Yes, you can. DH is titanium and we've done it before. If it doesn't ask for your Marriott number at booking, you can call Marriott or use the chat on the app to attach the res to your profile.

Interesting- because when I've booked through Amex travel they won't credit points. Maybe its because I'm a lowly Platinum 😂

I'll take a look - though I was hoping to book on points since I'm staying 5 nights. That's why even a split stay isn't really an option for me. I like Pop well enough - especially on race weekends.

I would like to, but we rented DVC points at OKW, so we can't change. I could save ~$250 if I could switch to All-Stars.

but OKW has hot tubs. and less people. and a mini fridge. and free laundry in the laundry rooms by the pools. and is the closest bus post-race. and is 5min from the start. ;)

I was thinking perks, not points. I do believe there are restrictions on earning points through some provider bookings. But it is still worth connecting the stay for your perks and upgrades.

That's right - yes, you still do get perks - and sometimes the nights as well. Similar to some conferences I've attended when using the room block.

And I checked - Swan and Swan reserve are available MW through Expedia right now. Too high for me in dollars compared to Pop (about double). Good idea though - thanks for suggesting!

Will keep trying through the app!

I was able to switch the two nights that aren't DVC to the new discount. Didn't save a ton but every little bit helps. I originally paid with a gift card and it said the amount back would be credited to my hotel bill. So does that mean when I buy food or whatever it will use that credit money first?
