Cancelled first time ever...need prayers for my DH

Good news! My husband's surgery went really well and was very successful. The wonderful surgeons removed the benign tumor and were able to save hearing in the affected ear. There was also no facial numbness at all. I was able to see your posts on my android phone but when I tried to post back that he was doing well, the phone wouldn't let me post. I felt really bad because some of you asked how he was doing but I couldn't answer until we got home. He's on the couch in his pj's ready to watch Hawaii Five O...what a great sight! Thank you all for all of your prayers.

:thumbsup2glad to hear the surgery went well

Chris, thanks for the shoulder to lean on. Therapy actually went better today! DH will lose some ground for a few days following surgery but we have hope. I am going to wait until the last minute to cancel. If I feel that keeping the reservation will boost his spirits then I may do that. We also have Cirque tickets, CP reservations, etc. but I will deal with all of that as need be. I am also feeling run down, partly from stress and partly from not sleeping well. All these things shall pass, right? We just need to get our men-folk up and around!

Best wishes for your DH's speedy recovery:wizard:

Jean, can you let us know how your husband is doing after his surgery today? Prayers for both of you.

Just seeing this...sending kind thoughts and prayers...as well as a lot of pixie dust! Boston's hospitals are top-notch...you are in great hands...:grouphug:

This is your candle at the Shrine Church next to the Premium Outlet Mall, lit with special prayers that you and your DH will soon return to WDW.

Not in Orlando, but in Pigeon Forge, I carried on the tradtion of lighting candles for the intentions mentioned on this thread.

Jerseygal, thank you for your prayers.
Bobbiwoz, thank you for lighting a candle for my husband
Jean, I am sorry that you had a rough day today. You two are in my prayers.Did get your message about your husband and your trip to WDW. I posted a reply but it's not showing up so not sure if it went through.

My husband had a big set back today. We went to the ER yesterday and today after 3 CT scans, he was diagnosed as having had a stroke. My poor husband is so depressed...it just kills me to feel his pain. He has some weakness in his (L) hand and having difficulty walking. He has had so many medical issues in the last three years. Thank you for your continued prayers.

disneygal (Christine),
I hope that you and your DH have some good people at the hospital to help you navigate this very tough time. My DH is also back in the hospital (sepsis) and we have been so lucky to have social workers and medical personnel to give us advice and hope. Hope is so important. I had to cancel our December reservation today, which makes us sad, but I am hoping that someone on the waitlist got a happy surprise. We are focusing on a March trip now and also praying that DH will be strong for the upcoming holidays. I am wishing the same for your family.
I will continue to remember both of you in my prayers.

My husband is having a tough time of it. His left hand is weak and he is very unsteady. His left eye is affected and he has a little problem with speech. He had more tests yesterday including an MRI. The PT, OT and medical people want him to go to a rehab facility and he is refusing. He just wants to go home. They and I have tried to reason with him but he gets very upset and we are treading lightly because of his medical issues. I have a meeting with them at 2 and hopefully can resolve this. He just won't get the help at home that he can get at a rehab facility for a couple of weeks.
