cancellation question

We have ressies for this Sat. night at CSR. The plan was, we were going with my brother and gf. They may have to cancel to due to a family illness. Since we are less than five days out, what happens if we cancel. Because it is only one night, it is paid in full. Will we lose what we paid or will we receive a credit to re-book later?

If you cancel now, you will lose the deposit. If you reschedule, you should be ok and not lose any money. I know you can reschedule packages and not lose anything if you're less than 45 days out, so I would assume it's the same for room only. But with that said, you would have to reschedule now rather than cancel and do it later as Disney doesn't give credits for future stays.

Reschedule your current reservation out to some date in the future. If you need to cancel the new reservation, do it within the 5 day window.

Thanks! My brother just cancelled his reservation and that is what they advised him to do. Rebook for a future date and then cancel that at least five days out.
