Canadians using Magical Express

Hi.. I just have a question about Canadians using ME.. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm flying out of Toronto, Canada (YYZ-MCO), if I preclear US customs in Toronto could I not just put on the yellow ME tags beforehand? If that is possible do I still have to pick up my bags at MCO?

I am wondering the same thing too. When I talked to the Disney agent she seemed a bit confused and was reading a computer screen or sheet with information for Canadians and when I received my yellow tags it said the same thing. By the way they make it out to be is that for some reason we have to clear customs in Orlando with our luggage and then they will take it back and put it back so that the Disney Magical Express employees can pick it up. This totally doesn't make sense to me either since we clear customs in the airport in Toronto in order to get onto our flight. If we have to clear customs at MCO and for whatever reason don't get through, what do they do? Put us on a flight home?!?!? Wierd............

Just got off the phone with a Disney Magical Express employee and they said that the MCO security is very tight and Canadians have to pass through customs at MCO as well as in Toronto. Wierd.....

I still don't know how the luggage thing is going to work. When are you headed to Disney? I will be leaving this Friday.... if you are leaving later I will let you know when I get back.

I've read one review here on DIS where someone cleared customs at YYZ.. then at some point put on yellow ME tags.. next time that person saw bags was in hotel room...

You'd think more people would know.. because a lot of flights to the US from Canada clear customs at a major Canadian airport

hopefully we find out something soon!

we've never had to go through USC&I again at MCO, flying with AC - bit have read of others that have had to go through again...

I know your arrival gate at MCO would make a difference...

Put your yellow ME tags on your bags. If other guests are collecting their bags at the first carousel to go through customs, even if you pre-cleared, then you should look for your bags. The yellow tags allow you to bypass the carousels in the main terminal building.

I don't think most of the ME employees understand the concept of pre-clearing customs and it's possible the rules may change.

If you clear customs at MCO you can still use the ME tags to bypass the second carousel.

Hmmm.. interesting Lewisc... if I'm reading that correctly you mean that even if I clear customs at my home airport and I see people from the same plane going through customs again.. I should look for my bags? Assuming nobody on the plane goes through customs again would I then just go directly to the ME desk?!? (This is under the assumption that I put my yellow tags on back at home airport)

Oh.. btw.. I checked the GOAA site, skyservice's arrival gates are 1-29 Airside 1, not sure if that makes a difference.
