I wonder if it's possibly because there may be a down shortage? Maybe due to supply issues and bird flu? And new coats just aren't made with enough down now? And
some other companies may be skimping on the down?
I was given an Eddie Bauer down coat last week. The gifter said it's too "lightweight" for her. Maybe it would work for me.
But, when I lifted the coat up, it has less than HALF the down a down puffer coat usually has.

It can't realistically even be called a "puffer" coat and the way and times we wear one here. It basically
looks the same from afar. There are quilted areas filled with down. But, not nearly as much down that older coats & jackets have.
I have a down coat in a color I can't stand now. It's half as long and twice as puffy, filled a LOT with down. It is so much heavier than this new, longer coat.
I saw a review online after, of a different brand down coat and the reviewer said the same thing, that it's too "lightweight" for a down coat.
I may wear the coat in late spring. But, yesterday, when we had the wind chill at -10 degrees, no way!
Maybe Canada Goose doesn't skimp on filling down, and thus these jackets are worth wearing AND stealing?
