Can You View Other Resort Rooms?

My DH has a conference at WDW & he's taking me. Since I will have time of my own during the days we are there, I thought I might check out some of the resorts that we haven't yet stayed at (in preparation for our 2005 family trip).

Does anyone happen to know if I might be able to view a guest room at some of the different resorts & if so, how would I go about making arrangements to do this?

we're planning on doing this on our upcoming trip!
just ask at the front desk, and explain that you'd like to scope out where you'd like to stay next tme (in our case our next trip is our honeymoon), and i'm sure they'll show you something.
Just make sure you're not asking during the busy check out/ check in time (whatever that might be).
Plus the GF and WL give tours of their whole resort for free. Just call the general number from your hotel room (hit the speed dial button or they'll charge you for an outside call), and ask to be connected to the front desk of the GF or the WL.

We were able to view a room at another resort when we were there in May 2003. Like the previous poster said, just tell the front desk what you are doing and they will show you a room.

GF does not give tours anymore.

You can check out the DVC models over at the DVC office on the Boardwalk. Until they move them over to Saratoga Springs Resort.

Thanks so much for the info. & suggestions. I will definitely check out the tour at WL. Too bad GF doesn't offer a tour any more. Checking out the DVC model at the Boardwalk is also a great idea - of course if I do that we may come back DVC owners(a wonderful dream of mine).

We tried to do this at the Poly in October and they said they couldnt show us a room, but they did show us a nice photo book of the rooms with 8x10 photos of all the rooms including the suites. If you really want to see inside a room, you could always try to sneak a look while mousekeeping is at work, or ask someone to let you see in theirs. Otherwise, I think it is only the photo album.

When we were staying at the Dolphin, we took a walk over to the BC. I went to the front desk and said that we'd like to see a room. The front desk had someone show us not one but two rooms.
We liked them very much and ended up staying there on a future trip.

On our vacation in at the Swan in October 2003 my DH, DD and I went to the GF front desk and talked to a wonderful cast member named Roberta. We told her that for a future stay we were very interested in staying in the RPC of the GF. SHe made a call and within minutes we were on our way up the private elevator and were shown a room, introduced to the concierge on duty and offered sancks and libations (which we humbly turned down, due to the overwhelming generosity of the staff).

Once back at the front desk, Roberta found out it was my DH's birthday and so he got a special front desk phone call from his favorite character. Then Roberta gave my DD a special pin that she had on her lanyard. My DH was so impressed, as was I!

Upon return to home, I called WDW CRO and booked a surprise 40th b-day trip to WDW for next October in a deluxe concierge RPC room!

I was so impressed with the kindness and true Disney spirit we beheld at the GF that I know our WDW October 2004 trip will be a wonderful experience!

Wow! Thanks for all the great replys. It sounds like it won't hurt to just stop by the front desk of some of the different resorts & see what they have to offer. Even if I don't get to see the rooms, just looking around at the different resorts will be fun I think.

last June I had asked the concierge desk if I could look at a suite. there was one vacant so I got to see it, we were told it was the suite Brittany Spears stayed in. Hope you get to see what you want, good luck

I think that I could spend a day or two just checking out all of the resorts. That's one of my favorite parts of Disney. Is that goofy or what? We got to check out the Yacht Club last time. We didn't get to see the rooms but we didn't think to ask either. I think we will do a little "resort window shopping" on our trip this summer. That way we will have a better idea of where we want to go in 2006 or whenever we make it back.
