So we are a party of 6 going at a peak time, so it is hard to find what we are looking for in that number. Will it work if I can find ADRs in smaller table numbers at close times. For example, 3 ADRs of table for 2 all within 15 minutes of each other (like the first one is at 1:45, the second 1:50 and the last at 2:00)- will they let us sit all together?

Maybe, maybe not. It depends on how busy the restaurant is and how the tables are turning over. I wouldn't count on being seated together. You could possibly all be seated in the same time period but even that isn't guaranteed. Remember and ADR is not an actual reservation. Good luck and have fun.

They will always try to accommodate guests when possible but it would all depend on table availability. You would probably be better to try for 4+2.

I think it also depends on the types of tables at each restaurant. Parties of 2 may be sat at 2-top tables, it would depend if restaurants move tables around or not. But otoh, parties of 2 or 3 may be sat at 4-top tables.

My DH has done this many times when travelling with a large group. He typically stops by the restaurant a few hours early and alerts them to the two or three ressies his group has and asks if they can be seated together or close to each other. In most cases, with that notice, they have been super helpful and accommodating.
