We currently have reservations for a suite at WL, May 21-24.

I booked a Basic Package as I am using an American Express Exclusively Yours card to pay for the stay. It is an incentive card with points that are good at WDW.

Here is my problem. We will not arrive until VERY LATE on Friday-it may even be Sat. morning. Do I want to pay for the suite to sit empty on Friday night? No. DH just informed me we can't leave until Thurs. evening. Not what we had originally planned.

I can't change the reservation to 2 nights because it has to be a package. It can't be a package for only 2 nights.

Any suggestions as to what to do? Book regular concierge room and a different room for him to sleep in on Sat. night?

DH really wanted a room with a seperate sleeping area and the concierge service. He has to sleep in a seperate room the night before his triathlon because he has to sleep well.

Thanks in advance. :sunny: :sunny:

Why does it have to be a package? You can book room only and then buy LOS or hopper passes for a shorter trip. Or can you shift your whole trip over to arrive a day later and stay a day longer?

In order to use the AMEX EY card, I need to book a package. I can't book through CRO AND use the card.

I suppose we could just stay another day but we really want to get over to VB on Monday.

We won't be going to any parks because most of our time will be spent at FW for the triathlon.

I just don't want to pay for the room for a night if we are not going to arrive until basically the next day.

:D

I am assuming that you are driving, and with that in mind I would say to keep the room as is, because if you should arrive at 3 or 4 in the morning after driving, it would be wonderful to have your room waiting for you! Maybe since your plans are in something of a state of flux you should keep it for your piece of mind.

Yes, we are driving.

Originally, we were going to arrive Fri. evening after driving on Thurs. and Friday.

Now we can't leave until after 5 on Thursday. Who knows when we will get to Florida. I'm really not looking forward to driving all night. I think DH is pushing it but he doesn't want to take Thursday off.

I guess maybe we could keep the suite for Friday night in case we arrive early. It just kills me to think of it empty Friday night.

Who knows, I'm sure I'll figure out something.

Thanks for the suggestions.:sunny: :sunny:

If youre not flying and youre not going into the parks, whats in the package?

It's just a Basic Package-room only really. I had to book a package.

I'm still going over our options.

Thanks for all of the info.:D

Keep an eye on mousesavers.com. There is currently a discount code good through mid-april. Maybe a new one will come out, so you can book room only and still get a deal.

Unfortunately, I can't use a code for the type of room we are staying in. The suites are never discounted.

Thanks for all of your help, though. I'm sure I'll make the final decision at some point. :teeth:

If I were you I'd just stay on the road somewhere that first night... or offsite in Orlando... and then have your suite the 22-25. VB will still be there on Tuesday! :)

You can book another room type on your existing WDW package. WDTC can do this easily. In fact, I do this everytime we go to WDW now (since I'm a Travel Agent you HAVE to book through WDTC so I book the Basic Package all the time now). We usually arrive late. So, we book a less expensive room (even different resort!) our first night. Some CM's don't know how to do it so don't be surprised if the first time you call they have no idea what you are talking about. LOL

I agree with the other post that it might be nice to wake-up and be in your room. I guess it all depends on what it is worth to you to have to check-in and out. If you are light packers and you'll be gone most of the day, the hassle of moving may not be a big deal.

:)
