Can you haggle with Disney on resort prices as they try to fill unused rooms?

I have reservations for a trip next week where we are staying at the Dolphin for 5 days and Coronoda Springs for the next 4. Ideally, I would rather stay at a resort on the monorail track (Polynesian, Contemporary, Grand Floridian.) that either of these, and please do not take offense as I KNOW the Dolphin is a fine hotel.

Basically this would be called an "upsell" (with me throwing in the leverage of extending my stay) - but I don't know if Disney will allow upsells to different resorts, instead of just a different view, level of service, etc... at the same resort.

Since I will be down there at the Dolphin, a non-disney hotel in terms of their reservation system, Disney may see an advantage to me starting my Disney (non-dolphin) vacation earlier. (They don't have to know, and probably wouldn't care, that I would be trading in Dolphin time.)

Would I have any way of talking Disney into getting into a "monorail resort" to use up their unused room at a greatly reduced rate since they may be trying to fill unused rooms this close to the date? I could even stop in and haggle in person.

Do I have any chance? Or is that just not the way it works?

(We do have annual passes, so we already would get a discount. I am just trying to see if Disney would let me stay at the Contemporary, etc... for the same ballpark # as Coronodo if they knew they would be getting more $ out of me by extending the stay. Keep in mind, basically I am offering them more $ but a lower rate.)

I personally don't think this will work - anyone think otherwise?
My apologies to anyone that thinks I'm conniving :) I just bought a new car so I'm in the mood!

Thanks!

You can't haggle BUT if the bookings are light Disney will release more discounted rooms (AP rate for example). An AP discount at a deluxe (particularly WL and AKL) might not be any more than RACK rate at a moderate.

The maximum discount (AP and good codes) is usually 40-45%. If that's enough for you keep checking for AP discounts, if it's not enough be happy with what you booked.

Save you some looking-- A good rate at Swan/Dolpin is about $150, a good rate at POLY is about $200. Wing rooms at the contemporary are less.
