We have ADR for dinner on our upcoming trip. I wanted to get something fruity while having dinner and wondered if you could get one there.

Sure, even if they don't have it on their drink menu, it's a fairly common tropical drink and I'm sure they'd be happy to make you one. :)

If you want to try something different, the Tradewinds is one of my favorites there as well.

Yes you can and it's very yummy :wizard:

They also have a couple signature drinks. Had the Macaw it was delicious.

I get a Mai Tai from either the the beach bar or Tambu Lounge (the drinks for 'Ohana and Kona both come from there I believe) every trip (except when I was pregnant!). It is a specialty of the Polynesian. My husband usually gets me one and brings it to the room in a to go cup but the Tambu Lounge served it in a tiki glass for years. Not sure if it is still served that way? They make the best mai tais I've ever had.

The Lapu Lapu is another specialty of the Polynesian. It is fruity and I think sweeter than a Mai Tai (never tried them back to back ;) ) and is served in a hollowed out pineapple. Very cool presentation!

Boy, a lot of parentheses in this post!

I love this drink! And I am not a big drinker either. Very fruity and yummy. I thought it was the Polynesian's version of a Mai Tai. But I don't know much about drinks.

I've heard of this one but was told it is VERY stout on the alcohol. Is that true? I don't care for drinks that are heavy on the alcohol, I'm a wuss in that respect. To prove it, when I want a drink at home I made a "Lindsay tutti-frutti" which is cranberry juice with a splash of Triple Sec. How lame am I?:hyper::laughing::rolleyes1

The Lapu Lapu is a larger drink I think so it probably does contain more alcohol. It could also be that people are having more than one since the drink is GOOD and the alcohol taste is not strong.

But you could always ask for light on the alcohol. :sunny:

Hmmm, true. Thanks for the help :)

I may start a Lapu Lapu thread to find out :)
