Needed a repairman to move my car recently and I threw him the keys. He came back quickly with a sheepish look on his face and said he couldn't drive a "stick". How 'bout it....can you drive one? :car:

Yup! DH won't drive anything but! (well, his car anyways)

Yep... I learned on one. Actually my mom taught us all how to drive a stick. :thumbsup2

No, but my car has the ability to do both. Does that count?:teeth: ;) :bitelip:

LOL, funny you should ask. No I cannot but DH has one. I have to go out in a little bit and he was blocking me in the driveway so we just had to switch spots......

Yep! The first two cars I bought were stick. The car I've had for 6 1/2 years is my first automatic transmission.

My first car was a stick. I learned to drive stick once I got it (about five years after I learned to drive at all). Took a while before I could go up a hill with confidence (I was always afraid of stopping and then rolling back before I could get going foward again!). :rotfl:

I learned on a stick and then taught many of my friends, my civic is a manual.

I love it!

This is my first automatic - I MUCH prefer a standard over an automatic but my car didn't come in standard. =(

I learned to drive on a standard with a broken clutch that I had to pump before using LOL!

Yes'm - :car:

My fiance cant drive it though. We're looking for a new (used) car and I reminded him last night "You know, I can drive stick .... look for them, too"

And he was all " *I* cant drive stick though!!!" I offered to teach him - and you should have seen his face  ! ! !

Mr Manly-Man certainly couldnt have a GIRL teach him this! ! ! I dont think he's looking for "stick" cars too, even though he says he is! :rotfl2:

I can drive one, I had one for a year. I wouldn't get another, too much to think about and I avoided hills! I love to just get in and drive!!

Sure my father made part of my driving lesson on a stick. I had to start a car on a hill without letting the car roll back. Boy am I good at slipping a clutch. We have owned standards before and when DH got his new 2005 he demaned it be a stick.

No, not an inch.

Back in 1987 or 1988 DH said he was going to teach me how to drive a stick. I must have been really bad...he gave me one lesson using his car & I never had another!

I learned to drive on a stick, so yes. Our first car was a stick. They are fun to drive but we have automatics now.

Yes, but it has been a few years - I would probably kill it a few times or make it jump a little. :scared:

BUT, I wasn't sure if DH could drive one, so I had to ask him. When he wanted to know WHY, I told him I was just wondering. Well, because of my asking, he figured out that I am giving him the Richard Petty Driving Experience for his bday while at WDW. Although it is no longer a surprise, he is still happy. :thumbsup2

My VW was a stick which I loved driving but that's been years ago.

Yup. And I hope we keep DH's '98 Accord long enough for the kids to learn on it. I think it's a really important thing to know.
