If I rent one for an hour, could I do half an hour and then dock and let my dad do half an hour? But just pay for the one hour...

I'm not sure that this is possible because when you rent one, the driver has to sign paperwork for insurance purposes and leave a room key...Since you would be the registered driver, I don't think they will allow you to just switch off. I guess the best thing to do would be for you and your dad to sign up seperately for 1/2 hour. It is a lot of fun to go out with someone on the boats at the same time because you have someone to cruise around with, plus you can use each other's wakes to bounce around. That's just my opinion on this though, maybe someone will have more definite info for you.

My husband and I were just at the Poly three weeks ago and all we had to do was both sign the release since we wer both going to drive the boat we just switched at the dock it was no problem at all. They are so fun!!!

Why can't you each rent one for 1/2 hour and ride around together with two mouses? That would be much more fun then going around by yourself while the other one waits. Are you saving that much money by doing it this way? My husband and son each rented them and had a ball riding and exploring together. Well worth the extra few bucks to do it that way.

Me and my friend, my mother and my father. I wanted to go out with my friend for 1/2 an hour, and then switch and give it to my parents....and save 20$ over renting two seperate half hours... and at disney if you can find a way to save you should take advantage of that...

To me that is different as you will have someone to enjoy riding around with. I thought you meant you ride alone and then your friend rides alone. That would be boring and not worth the $20 saved to me.

I suggest put out a little more money and take an hour at the seven seas lagoo. (the one near MK) You can get them at the back of the Contemporary. I have done all the places that you can get those boats at and i like seven seas lagoon best.

If you find the right spot you can see some of Water Country.

Confused here . . . are you referring to River Country??

When you rent the boat from either cont, Poly WL, or GF you have full range of the seven seas lagoon.

You should take a short cruise by yourself on the boat they go faster with less weight.
My husband and i went out together and cruised around the whole lake then at the end of our time we took a spin a lone.My husband loved it!! we cannot wait to do them again.

We do go by ourselves with each renting a boat and I agree it goes much faster. I was speaking of someone renting one boat and each taking a turn for a half hour. To me that woulnd't be worth it since you are alone out there completely without a buddy riding in another boat with you.
