Can you do this with TA or only with DCL?

We booked a Dec. cruise with a TA. I've read on the boards how you can go on the DCL website and check your reservations, make payments, book shore excursions and apply shipboard credits, etc. Can you do this only if you book directly with DCL? I tried plugging in the confirmation number that I received from my TA but it said it couldn't find the reservation. Is the confirmation number I have from her only for the agency's reference? If so would she be able to give me a number that links up with DCL? Thanks in advance if anyone can actually answer any of these!

I booked with Expedia and the confirm number was theirs only. When I figured that out I wrote to them and they sent me my "Disney" confirm number. Although that number still doesn't work when I put it into Disney's website it does work when you book excursions. I booked an excursion over the phone yesterday and they use that number to book it and look up any other info. I think the online reservation check is only if you booked with Disney.
