Can you combine direct sales points & resale points?

With the changes to the perks for resale could you do this...
Let's say I have 100 points direct sale & 100 points resale. I want to book BLT for 150 pts. BLT isn't in the main villas category so the resale points can't book BLT anymore. Could I still use both points combined to pay for it of will I be limited to only those I have through the direct sales?

Is it safe to assume this is a hypothetical situation? If you do currently own points direct or indirect, I would recommend calling Member Services to educate yourself of the in's and out's. I still contact them at times when I have a situation that comes up that is new to me. If you do not currently own, and looking to buy, I would probably buy all under 1 contract (if you are looking for a total of 250 points) to keep things simple. There are too many possibilities, options and opinions that could come into play to debate here. We probably could all come up with pro's and con's of any scenario.
