As saided above......this is a great perk ....and I realize a little drink that no one may know you have isn't a big deal, but if it gets outta hand, DCL will stop any alcohol form being brought onboard!

So please enjoy it in your cabin or bring it to dinner.,wine etc, and leave it with that!

PS.I once saw a guy by the pool with a 12 pack of Bud light (why anyone would drink Bud light I will never understand but thats another story).....a manager type CM came by and asked him to remove them to his cabin..........after the guest became rude..... he was told to........rumour around the ship afterward was the alcohol in his cabin was taken away!.......mind you I can't proved it was taken from him, but that was the story.

I have a 1 and 3 yr old so how much drinking do you think would actually go on. Nap time in the stateroom will probably be my quiet time to read and have a margarita.

As for bud light man.. well one could say his refined taste in beer was reflected in his refined respect for other guests and cm.

It occurs to me that if I'm catching a flight to Orlando on the morning of the cruise and then taking a Disney bus to the terminal...I'm not going to be able to bring on any significant amount of alcohol anyway, so...am I missing something?

No, unfortunately without stopping at a shop on the way from the airport, or flying internationally to get duty free your kinda stuck.
Duty free onboard isn't given over until the last night of the cruise.

Buying some at your first port of call is the other option?
