can you book two restaurants for the same time frame?

I actually did this a couple of years ago with one call - same name, same contact number. My son and his GF wanted to eat dinner at Morocco and the rest of us wanted to eat at Chefs de - I explained to the CM and both ADRs were made. No problem. But if you are trying to double book because you don't know what you want to do, well that's another story! By doing that, you may be preventing others from getting their ADRs. It may or may not be against the rules, but it is wrong IMO.

Thanks Pumba! I agree. Everyone seems to be doing a good job of keeping it civil so far, but just a word of caution. Unfortunately double booking is a very hot topic around here, with strong feelings that run deep on both sides of the issue. Please lets remember to keep it civil and not attack another person who does it the 'other' way. Both ways, either towards one who double books or towards a person who doesn't believe in double booking.

Expressing your feelings about a subject is perfectly fine and welcome, that's what a discussion board is all about. Attacking another person specifically because they do it the other way isn't what this discussion board is all about.

Because, after all this is the Restaurant Board, not the Community Board! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2: :lmao:

Sorry, couldn't resist

I too was able to "double book", as our group is splitting up into two seperate parks one day. 3 of of us will have ADR for Coral Reef, and the other 2 have an ADR at Brown Derby. The CM that I spoke to on the phone had no problem at all with this.

Please please please, I beg of anyone who is thinking about making double bookings not to do it! It is hard enough trying to get ADR's as it is, I do think its a very selfish thing to do too book more than you need. I have been to the point of nervous breakdown this last couple of weeks worrying about booking ADR's the stress of having the DDP and trying to get the TS meals booked has been a nightmare, it's caused tension, bad feeling and arguments in our house....who said going to WDW is supposed to be fun??? :joker:

Seriously though, it really has been a stressful time and I didnt manage to get everything I wanted, even with the 90 day + 10 rule, Im dissapointed no doubt, but I accept we are going at a busy time (easter) so I knew it was to be expected, but its very upsetting to know that I possibly didnt get a booking because someone else has made 2 just because they couldnt make a descision and stick to it.

Im not being nasty and I hope I dont come off as rude, I just think it's a very selfish especially with ADR's being so difficult to book in the first place.

I think that is a perfectly fine thing to do, your only taking up the space in the restraunts that you need, just the 5 spaces that you would use if you were eating together or seperatley, but taking up 10 spaces for 5 people on a double booking IMO would be wrong, and a different thing altogether from what you did with your ressie :goodvibes

I don't consider this "double booking". If you booked all 5 at both because you couldn't make up your mind, that would be double booking. I am planning a Grand Gathering, and one night the girls want to do CRT while the boys do Yachtsman, so we will have 2 ADRS at the same time, but instead of 1 ADR for 21 we will have 1 for 10 and 1 for 11. Not double booking.

I wanted to be light and LOL at the response above but the more I thought about it the more it upset me. I won't ever post again-the rudeness level is WAAAAAY too high for my comfort level.

BTW-I only had those ADR's for a few HOURS so get over it and try to treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.

You will find that many of us will post respectfully, even when we don't agree with you, but others can be......well, pretty obnoxious.

Take those people with a grain of salt....possibly on a margarita glass. ;)

But don't let the nasties push you away from posting. Thicken your skin a bit, and you'll find we're mostly quite nice. :flower3:

Wow, I did not know this about the California Grill-thank you for clarifying & correcting me! Are there any others (besides the ones that you prepay in full) that will charge a no show fee?

I'm not aware of any other places that hold the credit card for the no-show fee. I am guessing they do this because of the frenzy people have about eating there just to see the fireworks.

Wow, I would never have thunk this would have caused so many negative posts! Goodness folks, not all of us make 2 ressies and just not show up for one of them, ruining it for other people. I know what it's like to not get the ADRs you want. This happened to me in Sept. I couldn't get any of the ressies I wanted except for one over the course of six days, which is why I am making sure I make the right decision as this will be our last trip for a long time and depending on where I would stay, my ADRs would be very different. If I stayed at AKL, I would have wanted Boma and Jiko, and if staying at the Poly, I would book a few monorail resort dinners. At the 45 day mark, I would have cancelled the other ressie, giving others ample time to book the dinner they wanted. Give some people credit before throwing those punches please! Not to mention, I already posted that I was sticking with my AKL ressie and wouldn't be needing to possibly book two ADRs...Different strokes for different folks I suppose! :sad2:

I know people feel strongly on this, but I think everyone needs to remember that it's okay to have the best vacation that you can :) IMO, as long as you cancel the reservations that you don't use as soon as you know that you're not going to use them, then you're good to go! Especially in your case when you know at the 45 day mark.

What's the 90 day + 10 rule?

Kim

If you're staying at Disney Resort, you can book at 90 days from the start of your vacation, plus an additional 10 days from that, which should allow you to book the ADRs for your entire trip in one phone call instead of calling back for each day of your stay to make an ADR.

This is the reason why its so hard to get an ADR, because there are so many inconsiderate people out there, that instead of making up their mind on where to eat they make 2 or 3 ADRs for different restaurants at the same time. Not caring that they are possibly taking a table away from some people who really want to eat there. The 90 day rule is supposed to help this. I hope so. I just made my ADRs for my April trip and it was the first time I was able to get an ADR at le cellier in 6 trips.
