I am currently booked at AKL but hoping to upgrade to Poly. Where I end up will make a big difference as to where I make my ADRs. Could I book two separate ressies for the same time, for instance, make a six pm at Boma and on the same night book a six pm at O'Hana and cancel the other one when I know where I am staying?

Call and get the one reservation under your name and then call right back and get reservation under your spouses name.

you know what? I don't even think I'm going to worry about it. I was hoping that I could eventually upgrade to the Poly with the 4/3 deal thinking that it may be available at a later date, but I just tried to book the vacation the regular way and there still aren't any garden view or lagoon room views available. Looks like I was a little late for booking the Poly so I will be happy with my second choice and stick with my Boma and Jiko ressies instead :) Thanks anyway! :cool1:

There have been reports on the Dis of people having all of their ADRs cancelled when disney notices that you have two made for the same time. Just so you know. That is not a chance I would really want to take.

I have also seen that if you just miss and ADR altogether than you may be charged a fee...

If you make reservations under two SEPERATE names for the same time, with two different contact numbers, then there is no way Disney can pick up on the fact that someone is double-booking. Of course,it must be two seperate phone calls.

We're a party of 7 usually so when we make dinner ressies (we usually split up) we would make them all under different phone numbers so they wouldn't get cancelled out. I've never booked 2 on purpose not knowing which I'd use, but when my parents want flying fish & we're going to spoodles, we HAD to make 2 ressies, but under 2 phone numbers even though we were the same reservation number (since we were in a 2 BD villa).:goodvibes

okay. It can be done!:thumbsup2

NOT true.

Certain ADR's you have to pay for in advance (i.e. CRT) & if you miss your ADR you do not get a refund. Otherwise, there is no fee for missing an ADR.

This is true. The woman on the phone last time I called said the computers typically do not allow 2 ADR's under the same party for the same time. She said that even if it does go through in advance, if they catch it in the system, they will cancel both ADR's.

It's really not in good taste to make 2 ADR's for the same time. There are busy WDW restaurants that people try hard to get reservations for and when you book two ADRs at the same time, you are taking that time slot away from someone who really wants it.

If you work hard enough to manipulate a system, you usually can....

the whole point of WDW canceling the double-bookers is b/c we have people on the boards regularly complaining [and rightly so, IMHO] that they can't get an ADR when we all know people who have multiple ressies and will never be able use them, but they aren't available for someone else.

California Grill will charge you a no-show fee if you don't cancel within 24 hours. They have a credit card guarantee when you make the reservation for this purpose, but they won't charge you if you show up for your reservation.

The whole topic about duplicate ADRs is a hot button issue on the dining boards. I frown upon it simply because I don't think it's that difficult to figure out where to eat on any given day, especially with all sorts of planning info available to anyone who can Google.

Wow, I did not know this about the California Grill-thank you for clarifying & correcting me! Are there any others (besides the ones that you prepay in full) that will charge a no show fee?

I think that anyone who books two ADRs for the same time, or thereabouts, should be banned from WDW.

Just my opinion.

Have fun,

I wanted to be light and LOL at the response above but the more I thought about it the more it upset me. I won't ever post again-the rudeness level is WAAAAAY too high for my comfort level.

BTW-I only had those ADR's for a few HOURS so get over it and try to treat others as you would like to be treated yourself.

Sorry - but you said you were going to keep both until you made up your mind where you were going to stay.

Duplicate ADRs should be cancelled - the same way if your plans change that day you should still cancel your ADR. I've seen too many people turned away, or not be able to make the ADR they wanted to have much compassion for those who try to "manipulate" they system by making numerous ADRs for the same time frame.

But in those few hours I'm sure there were some disappointed people that couldn't get into that restaurant for that time slot!
