Can We Use Points That Haven't Been Closed On Yet?

We close on our points around July 15th - resale - financing approved - everything set in place -- could we use our points B4 then ...have a trip already planned in June - need to switch our days around and would require using these new points.

You have to wait until you are in the system. It took 9 days after our closing to be able to book.

No, sorry. On a resale, you will not be able to make a reservation until after you are closed and the contract entered into the DVC computer system - that can take several days after closing.

No because until you close, you don't own the contract -- the seller does. It isn't until the closing that the contract officially changes hands. There is then a period of 7-10 days for Disney to receive the paperwork and change ownership of the contract in their computer system. At that point, Disney recognizes you as the new owner and you can then make your first reservation.

Lucky for you DVC doesn't do like most timeshares (inc Marriott) that require the actual original recorded deed before they will change it over. This would take an extra 4-6 weeks. In this case you should be in the system within 5-10 days or so after the closing.
