I agree. I also have canceled parties in the past, and I've picked up last-minute bookings as well. So keep checking back. Regarding the question about diabetes/sugar free options - there are some. I've seen sections of the buffet labeled "sugar free", though I did not pay particular attention on 10/5 and can't give you details of the offerings. And yes, there are cheese and crackers, you're right.I cancelled a party a week before our trip, so keep checking.
I was also wondering whatthey would offer people with diabetes - cheese for $100?
The value of this dessert party, I think, varies for different people. For me personally, it's not about getting $100 worth of desserts/drinks. I find the value is more about having a dedicated fireworks viewing space along with a table to sit and enjoy some desserts/drinks before or after.
I love fireworks but hate being in the hub crowd, much less camping out there in advance. (I'm the type person who used to use a fastpass on fireworks viewing, back when that was offered.) I love being able to have a leisurely dessert/drink and then meander over to the Plaza Garden for a perfect fireworks view. Can't do it every time, of course, but once in a while is very nice.
