Can we talk dessert party?

I cancelled a party a week before our trip, so keep checking.

I was also wondering whatthey would offer people with diabetes - cheese for $100?
I agree. I also have canceled parties in the past, and I've picked up last-minute bookings as well. So keep checking back. Regarding the question about diabetes/sugar free options - there are some. I've seen sections of the buffet labeled "sugar free", though I did not pay particular attention on 10/5 and can't give you details of the offerings. And yes, there are cheese and crackers, you're right.

The value of this dessert party, I think, varies for different people. For me personally, it's not about getting $100 worth of desserts/drinks. I find the value is more about having a dedicated fireworks viewing space along with a table to sit and enjoy some desserts/drinks before or after.

I love fireworks but hate being in the hub crowd, much less camping out there in advance. (I'm the type person who used to use a fastpass on fireworks viewing, back when that was offered.) I love being able to have a leisurely dessert/drink and then meander over to the Plaza Garden for a perfect fireworks view. Can't do it every time, of course, but once in a while is very nice.

I saw several availabilities for the beginning of December two weeks after the 60 day mark. I just snagged the after fireworks dessert party. Just keep checking:)

Btw I am grateful for all the reviews since I wasn’t sure what to book (pre/after) and hearing about the differences made the decision process easier :)
Do you book through “reserve dining” on app or a different way?

You book through reserve dining, or you can search the party you're looking for, open that page, and then click the "check availability" button.

Here's a photo from the Plaza Garden Dessert Party Viewing Area. This was taken on 10/5/2021, about 10 minutes before the start of Enchantment. I'm leaning on the back fence (my preferred viewing spot). As you can see, the viewing area was not crowded. The whole area to the right of me was empty of people. It's not a great photo, but it'll give you an idea of what I experienced. Dessert Party 10.5.2021.jpg

I booked myself a Seats and Treats Dessert party in mid-december. I'm just hoping that they don't give solo folks crappy seats.

Normally I'd do a before fireworks in the plaza but I worried about getting there on my scooter. The last Plaza Garden party I did I wasn't on a scooter but noticed that it would have been nearly impossible to get there with the crowds and no help from the cast members escorting the group there.

I'm still not sure if I will be keeping the reservation. But I don't want to have to hang out for 2 hours on a regular spot either and I want to see Enchantment that trip.

This is interesting. I looked on the calendar to see if I could switch it to a garden plaza and it's not showing as bookable. Then I looked at my reservation and while it's still there it says it's temporarily unavailable. Wonder if it's yet another glitch or they've removed dessert parties from that night or it's 100% sold out. Either way - I guess I'll find out.......

Do these parties book 60 days in advance? And can you book them through MDE in the same way you book regular dining reservations, or do you have to book through the link on the website's dessert party page? I'm also wondering if these reservations are more difficult to get than most dining reservations. My 60 day window is approaching, so I need to figure out which reservations to try for first.
For reference, we decided last minute to head to Orlando for the first week of November (Jersey Week, and yes we are from NJ) and I was able to grab reservations for the pre party 20 days in advance, on what should be a pretty busy weekend. Obviously this is one person’s experience but all I’m saying is there is a chance you can book after 60 days.

This is really helpful. We are doing a party to avoid the shoulder to shoulder hub crowd

If you see Paging Mr Morrow’s review, he recommended getting there a lot earlier as they started letting people in early for the Treats & Seats and it was first come first serve for the seats. Here is the link:

Hi,

So question about something on the website for the parties when you check for availability It says the following:
Separate Valid Admission and Park Reservation for Same Park on Same Date Required

I'm thinking of doing HS in the AM the day I'm looking to do the dessert party, then taking a break and hopping to MK for dinner and the fireworks. Do I need the park reservation for MK that day if I'm hopping? Cause it almost sounds like that from that little note.

I'm hoping to do the treat and sweets dessert party on new year eve. I am on my +10 today (checking in on23rd December), but nothing past 25th December for the dessert party is listed for me. Any idea when reservations will open up for NYE please?

You can’t checkin before 7 for after hours parties; that’s the only caveat as you can’t enter the park, so if it’s a pre party they can deny entrance, but ok for after party

There is another thread where people were trying a dessert party on boo bash night; not sure if we have any reports back

I am afraid I dont know the answer but I spoke to guest services on Friday and they confirmed that no dessert parties were showing after the 25th of December. I am hoping for 30th December also, guess we just keep checking!
