Specifically can we share recent experiences regarding autographs, hugs. Etc?

I'm just gonna vent that I just read a recent report on Facebook that Goofy's kitchen still isn't doing hugs or autographs except for Goofy at the beginning. Since the webpage no longer states it's modified this is a bit irritating. I just wanna know what I'm paying for/ prepare my kiddos.

So please share!

So.. the character meals no longer state they are modified but their webpages now have specific language about waving to characters. Are the days of hugging and autographs at meals over?

I saw a blog post about goofys kitchen at inamagicalmood . com

This was on May 22. "Currently, the characters come out every 15-20 minutes during a upbeat song. They stop briefly at each table for a quick photo or hug, but they cannot linger for autographs or big group photos. On our visit, we saw Minnie, Pluto, Chip and Dale."

They have a video on their YouTube channel

We have reservations for Goofys dinner, Storytellers breakfast and Princess Adventure breakfast the first week of August, so I'll see firsthand then.

We were at Storyteller's last week and all four characters paraded out in a line and waved. But then they also went around an interacted at each table. My son got hugs, high fives, and pictures with each one (Mickey, Minnie, Pluto, Dale). I got a couple of hugs too.

So it seems like just Goofy's that isn't having the interactivity? We haven't been back to Plaza Inn for breakfast since they changed things.

We went to Minnie’s breakfast a few weeks ago and it was totally normal and awesome (and reasonable.) I also liked the food more than I expected (although it’s hard to go wrong with Minnie and Mickey waffles.)

Hugs, signatures, daisy sat with us and leafed through my daughters autograph book with her.

We ate at Goofy's three days ago, and I can confirm no hugs or autographs except for meeting Goofy at the beginning. We also saw only three characters--Goofy, Minnie, and Chip/Dale. It was our son's first character dinner anywhere, so he didn't know anything else was possible and was happy with the experience. But I suspect anyone familiar with the Before Times would have been disappointed.

We are booked at DLH and this makes
Me kinda sad.. we have 125 days for them to make it better!

I have been following character dinning for a while now and what i seem to read is that Goofy's Kitchen is kind of like a party crazy/zany dance through interaction. (People have talked about waving around their napkins around to the music as the characters dance through.

Yeah. I might just have to adjust my expectations for it.

Sunday, 6/5, we went to storytellers for brunch and met Minnie, chip, dale, pluto. They stop by the table for pics. We asked if Mickey was coming out so they had him come out then he hung out with us while they did the birthday cupcake and song for my son! So special. The food was absolutely delicious and family wants to go back.

We had dinner at goofy’s on Monday, 6/6. Parade with music every 20 minutes with guests waving napkins. Minnie, chip, dale, pluto and chef goofy. No Mickey. Main pic with chef goofy. They stop by for a wave. If people engage them like the kids that get up during the parade then they will hug but they’re definitely trying to just wave. They will selfie photo bomb if they see you doing one with each other which is cute. They acknowledged my son’s bday with cupcake, candle, happy birthday song, and a bday button! Hehe, yes, we did it twice. The food was what I remembered which wasn’t the greatest but the family was happy.
ETA: we didn’t ask for autographs and I can’t remember seeing any characters signing books or anything.

Can confirm the napkin twirling/waving thing. I did not participate because, for real, that is where I wipe my hands and I don’t need bits of whatever food flying through the air :crazy2:

Goofy definitely signed during the meet and greet, because he was the first signature on my son’s photo matting. I asked the hostess if anyone else signs and she said sometimes Minnie will hang out near the entrance and will sign, but it didn’t happen for us.

Minnie's and Grand were both back to normal when I visited. 100 percent. Chip and Dale got that close for selfies (I was wearing Rescue Rangers gear) that it really felt for a moment no one had ever heard of Covid.

The only change I saw was that Daisy was at Minnie's, normally there's at least one face character like Peter Pan or more often the Fairy Godmother.Besides Daisy it was a selection of the usual cast: Minnie outside, Pooh, Tigger, Chip, Dale, Pluto. Suzy and Perla.

I think the reason why Goofy's Kitchen hasn't returned to normal yet is because they are trying a new image and part of this new image is making changes to character dining. And I think part of the reason why the characters only wave and not sign autographs is due to time and money. When I would go to Disneyland a lot my family and I had a tradition to eat there every trip. But now if and when my family plans on going to Disneyland in the future I figure it will be different next time. I think also that Goofy's Kitchen will raise it's prices and refer to their character dining as character experiences or as I call them CEs. It used to be that everybody would praise Goofy's Kitchen as the top restaurant of Disneyland because it was a place where kids could meet and greet with the best characters in one chance. But I think Goofy's Kitchen will start becoming the Cinderella's Royal Table of Disneyland because of it's high prices. But if Disneyland did start to have Marvel character breakfasts in DCA it would be a huge hit

I went to Goofy's for my bday April 1st which was before hugs came back so I had no expectations. Sounds like it's still the same.

DD and I went to Storyteller's for breakfast about a month ago and characters did stop, although Mickey completely ignored us (DD is 13, but still wanted to hug and get a pic) and Minnie and Dale never made it over to us. We only got Pluto and Chip.

Missing characters has always been a problem at Storytellers for us. Usually it's one we wait forever for. I can't recall one meal where we did not have to point out to an attendant "we are missing a character." Usually Chip or Dale.

We just ate dinner at Goofy's Kitchen Monday evening. You got the meet and greet with Goofy at the beginning. During the meal, the characters came through for the dance party (Minnie, Pluto, Chip, and Dale), but they did not stop at each table for hugs, photos, etc. They danced around the aisles moving pretty quickly and occasionally stopped for a brief moment if a child was up dancing near their table to do some dance moves with them, or high-fived a child or adult as they walked past a table here and there (my brother got high-fives from two characters that he didn't initiate), but then they danced their way out. It all started again about 20 minutes later and that was the entire experience with characters.
