Hey Froggy

You've got a FIRST rate medical facility right here in our state - the University of Arkansas Medical Center. They have all of that Walton money and it's rocking these days. The Jones Eye clinic is really top notch.

When I went to my eye doctor at UAMS a few months ago I was telling her how my dad didn't like going there as he kept calling it "that welfare hospital". She is young and did her training out of state at some big name school and she kept going on about how they had every piece of equipment that they needed - money was no object and that was letting them get the best doctors in the country.

UAMS was just the pits when I was growing up 40 years ago but it is amazing what money can do. They have world class treatment in many areas and people fly in from around the world.

I might even cook you a meal if you come up to LR - only if you promise not to compare it to your cooking - which I drool over when you post about it.

FYI - They recently published a list of the universities with the largest private (non-state or federal) gifts last year.

Harvard and Stanford were one and two and the top ten consisted of all of those exclusive private schools - except for the number FOUR position that was held by the University of Arkansas.

Thanks for all the support guys. Its really helped me feel better, and minnie, uams is my next stop. After this round of surgery is over i'm going to start checking in to getting my case transfered to Little Rock. I truly think uams would be a better facility forthe experimental stuff. Not goingto say ummc isnt good, but I am not happy with the drs that have taken up my case lately and they are not interested in the final out come being full usage , just able to get by, possibly with teh eye remaining covered at all times. That is just not acceptable to me. I believe htat after all the medical expanses the world has exhibited, there should be no reason for a viable eye to not be able to have lids rebuilt to work.
