We booked our flights for our trip coming up in a few days, back in the winter, and I'm happily surprised to see that JetBlue has never changed the flight times!!!

We used to always fly Delta/Song so we were used to at least a couple of changes before the travel date arrived.

Is this the norm for JetBlue, or are we just fortunate???

Thanks to everyone who recommended JeltBlue! :thumbsup2

All airlines change flight times, but of course not EVERY flight has a time change. You are lucky (so far).

I have flown JetBlue several times and while the flight time never changed, EVERY flight was at least 1 hour late departing, including a flight from Boston to JFK where we had an aborted take off. And the tvs weren't working either.

When I booked JB for my dd and dh's trip in May I was told by many that they (JB) don't change their schedules because they announce them so late. So....what happens? My dh watched the flights the day before they were due to leave...On Monday, JB canceled the flight (for Monday) dh/dd would be on on Tuesday. So, dh took dd out of school even earlier than we had planned, drove like a crazy man to Logan, got to the counter at about 2:45 for a 5:00 flight. Seems they had moved that flight up to 6:55. Now, when I had booked this flight for them, it was originally supposed to take off at 7, arriving in Orlando at 10. Perfect, since I didn't want dd to miss any more school than she was already missing. They (JB) changed it to a 4:55 flight, connecting in JFK, with a flight out of JFK at 7. So, now, there stands dh, with the JB people telling him that his flight is changed to 6:55...he asks them how he is supposed to make a connection to a 7:00 flight in JFK if he doesn't leave Logan until 6:55??? Sorry sir, but there are no other flights. He tells them, quite curtly that he has to be in NY to make that connection so he can be in Orlando. They take pity on him. He, and dd, with the rep, charge through the airport, through security (barely!!!), and just make it onto the 3:15 flight, just as they are getting ready to close the door!!! My poor dd....she was horrified. But, they got to MCO on time.
All this does is show me that no airline is immune from making changes. Dh had checked on-line at 2:00 to double check on his flight status.

I would thank my lucky stars if I was on a flight that hadn't changed at all. You know how used to checking daily we were with Delta/Song!!!! It's a habit now. Better safe than sorry. But I do love JetBlue. They make me pretty happy.

This is generally true. The later you book your flight, the less likely there will be schedule changes. Some airlines, JetBlue and Southwest among them, don't let you book flights early, but even then you could still have a comparatively small number of schedule changes.

Wow thanks for the replies! Now I'll be sure to KEEP checking the JetBlue web site right up until we leave Friday morning!!!! :scared: :faint:

Diane: Question for you!! Had your DH and DD already done the online check-in 24 hours in advance? Will they change flights even after people have done that (online check-in)???

There is a difference between a schedule change and a schedule interruption.

A schedule change is when the airline changes its plans to fly flights at specific times. That rarely happens within the last few weeks before a flight. Typically, it only happens between 11 months and 4-5 months prior to the flight. After that, the flight schedule changes very little.

Beyond that, at any time, passengers could encounter schedule interruptions. This happens, typically, due to problems with aircraft, unforeseen crew misplacements (a pilot missing a dead-heading flight, for example), weather, etc.

Terry, no, he didn't. He just kept checking on the flight number that was the same as theirs. Have a great trip.

Bicker...Yep, I realize there is a difference. And yes, I do understand that stuff happens. I've been the happy recipient of having flights with mechanical or equipment issues...not so much fun. I was just making the point that there are schedule changes....I booked JB based on the majority of people saying that JB didn't change their flight times once they were published...same as SW. And they did change the flight time...it wasn't an equipment or mechanical issue. They made the change about a month after I booked it, 2 months before they flew. Just trying to give truthful info about my particular experience.

Yup, understood. It sure does happen, despite being rare.
