I know there are codes for staying minimun of 6 nights at a value resort but this is the problem.... I'm going in january and staying at a value for 3 nights with dining. Does anyone know of any code I can use for that or can someone direct me in the direction I might find one :goodvibes.....

Thanks!!

I don't think any other 2010 promotions are out yet...so hold tight. I think there are usually room-only discounts offered and a lot of us are hoping they might offer a free dining code. I'd check back later in the month or in November.

Definitely hold tight for a bit. They should release a room only code that will be perfect for the shorter stays that many of us book at Disney. :goodvibes

With a room only code, I'll still be able to purchase the dining plan, right?

Thanks. I'm going to book this now becau we're going regardless. I guess I should just book the 4 nights with dining and hopper passes and keep my eyes open for a code and then I'll call them to try and apply code.

That's what I do & recommend. Being on these boards, you will hear about a new discount with plenty of time to get it applied to your ressei.

Hi Marci, I agree these boards are great! I haven't been to disney since '07 so it's been a while since I've been on here but I knew I could come here and get filled in with whatever I need to know.
And I just booked w/dining at a value and going to keep fingers crossed a code comes out to help us out a bit :)

When you choose the room only discount, you can add park tickets. Upon adding park tickets, it will allow you to add the dining plan. It's like a package, but you've added all the components seperately.

You can't add a dining plan unless you buy park tickets except if you are an AP holder.

A room only reservation is just that -- room only.
Tickets and/or dining cannot be added to a room only.
With those, you will be booking a WDTC package.

So I just booked a pkg with dining. Should I call and change it to room only and if code comes out apply it and add dining then? sorry I'm confused. I think 1816.00 for 3 nights is a lot...

So.... okay, excuse this, I am a TOTAL newbie.

We are going down to Orlando for a conference at Universal that is July 15-18th, 2010.

I was planning that we would actually arrive on the 11th and stay in a Disney hotel until the 15th, at which point we would relocate to the conference hotel and do all conference-y stuff. My partner has never been to Epcot and he hasn't been to the MK since he was very wee, so I really want to do it right - deluxe dining plan and all.

BUT.

If I am able to get a 4/3 deal, I would consider staying in the Disney hotel (either Poly, CSR or WL) the entire time.

How should I go about this? Do I make the reservation for the initial 4 days and then try to extend it and apply the code if the 4/3 deal (or free dining) comes out? Is that doable?

And how should I make the reservation - by phone, or on the website?

Sorry, guys, I feel like a dope. Is there a board just for dopey newb questions?

:) Yes it becomes a package, but you keep the "room only" rate on the hotel portion of the package, meaning it doesn't revert back to rack rate.

I just upgraded to an annual pass that expires in Sept. 2010, but I am interested in the 4/3 deal. My question is want to do with the 4 day ticket, is the ticket good forever as long as I do not use it, and do I leave it on the room key are should I ask for a separate ticket? If I need to take the ticket off the room key for a later trip where do I go to separate the ticket from the room key.

Thanks in advance.

I agree that the 1800 is a lot for three nights. I would keep the package, because most of the time they have a room only & a package discount out at the same time.

For an example of what I mean by adding the options to the room only, I ran this sample for a week in Dec. on the current Sept-Oct room only deal (which I cannot book starting it as a package). Two adults, 1 child Dec. 14-20, at ASMu in a standard room. I've added a 7 day base ticket, and just the QS dining plan. Here are the costs for each:

Using the room only code ($59/night weekdays & $94/fri & sat nights): $1,587.62
As a MYW package, same components booked at rack rate it is $1,784.18.

There is almost a $200 savings by doing it this way. When you call Disney about swapping to the room only (if it is a better deal than a package that is available at the same time) then you can tell them that you still want to go back and purchase the tickets & dining plan. Basically mirror your current reservation. I've walked through the pricing options on the phone before with a CM when I was comparing some options for a trip.

Thanks. I'm going to keep it as is and keep fingers XXX crossed for some kind of code to out. Any savings is a savings...
AND that 1816.00 is actually Monday through Thursday (coming home on Thursday) not even staying over the weekend.
It's for 2 adults 2 kids (12 & 9) 3 day hopper passes and dining with TS.

The only problem with just booking 4 days now and trying to add 3 days later is that there may not be availability at the resort for the 3 additional days. What you might want to do instead is go ahead and book 7 nights now and if a 4/3 deal doesn't come out, change to 4 days.

As to whether to book by phone or online, it's really personal preference. I like doing it online because then I can see for myself that all the info is correct - resort, dates, tickets, etc.

If a code does come out for this will someone please post it on this thread?!?! Please:goodvibes
