Last year we traveled with 13 adults with mental retardation and got the dinning plan - it worked out great!! paid for in advance no need to carry cash and one night our bill at coral reef was $998.75 :scared1: I cant imagine carrying that much cash to pay for a meal.
Any way -- i am confused with the new plan -- for this year - there are 13 of us traveling together - we break up into 4 rooms - so each group has their own meal credits - how are tax and tip going to work? Do you still give the server your card and they take the meal credits off and then they let you know how much cash you owe? since we are such a big group do they acutomacticly put a % of tip on to the bill?
And how does this work with CS - do you pay cash for the tax at the counter?
I dont mind that they dont have the appitisers anymore - but why not leave well enough alone - if we got great service - we always left an extra tip - and half of the time the servers didnt want to take it.
Can anyone clear this up for me?
thanks
Jennifer

Tax is still included in the DDP, all versions; it is the tip that is no longer included. If you order appetizers, you will need to pay for them OOP. Since you are a large group, you will automatically be charged an 18% gratuity. You can charge this to a single room, or break it down by room if you want. You might want to have a single person charge it to their room all the time and then figure it out per person when you get home or when you check out. Or you can do what my family does, one person pays today, another person pays tomorrow, etc.... that way it averages out pretty nicely.

Whew! I thought for a second there I was gonna be paying tax for 25 CS meals. I think that would be between $50 and $100, but that cuts money from souveneirs!

BTW to the OP, I am a teacher of children with mr and I want to tell you that I am jealous! I would LOVE to take my class to wdw. Do they offer discounts or anything for children with disabilities? Maybe we can do a fundraiser and get school board permission for an out of state trip for next spring during state standardized testing.

What fun! I have a special needs brother and have taken him to WDW a few times. It is always a treat. Seeing the world through his eyes brings a bit more enjoyment to the trip.

Kudos to you all for sharing the magic with those can really use it and appreciate it! Bravo, bravo, bravo!
