We have AP's and was wondering how this would work? How much does it cost?

What are the options for dining?

Thanks everyone. :flower:

the cost for AP holders is 50$; your card will not be charged until the order is filled. you can use it at most,if not all, sit-downs through-out wdw, parks and resorts. i do know the chef's table at victoria and albert is not included. there are not restrictions as to what can be ordered. it is good for 1 year and does have an expiration date. we had no problems whatsoever using it earlier this week and saved 87$ on dining. :earboy2:

It costs $50, valid for one year from date of purchase, and you get 20% off your bill.

You must call the phone number to call, they'll send you a letter and a card later on.

Present the letter/card when paying.

http://allearsnet.com/din/dde.htm has a great explanation of DDE.

Important to point out - 20% off food and beverages (including Alcohol) Makes those rum runners go down even better when you get 20% off! :earboy2: If you do a search you should be able to find a list of all restaurants and lounges that take it.

It costs $50. They'll send you an email or letter so you can use it while you're waiting for your card. You save 20% including alcoholic beveragesat participating restaurants.

You can get a list of participating restaurants but it's basically good in almost all table service restaurants and cocktail lounges. Counter service restaurants in resorts that don't offer buffets or table service restaurants., value resorts are the best example, are also included.

Only available on Sit-down meals at particpating restaurants and it includes alcohol. It is a 20% off the total. The owner of the DDE card must be present but it includes up to 10 people on the bill that are dining with the cardholder.

I don't have a list handy. Its a ton of places throughout Disney and including the Spirit of Aloha 8:00 PM showing.

There are some Black-out dates, holidays it seems. I don't have the list of which ones.

It is $50.00 for an AP holder.

If you eat out at sit-downs while at Disney and or drink any alcohol with any of your meals, you probably would make back your $50.00.

I'll give it a try:

You call dde number that you can get from passholder site or mouse monitor or Last I knew you could download a form and mail/fax it in.
It cost 50.00 for 1 year.
It is good at lots of sitdown places and a few counter services. From what I gather you just show server your dde card and photo id and you get 20% off bill including alcohol at partipating places. The card is good for up to 10 people including card holder and is only good on one check so if you and IL's dine together put it all on one check and settle bill between yourselves.

I called today to order my card and was told it takes 6-8 weeks to get the card-and after to speaking with the very slooooooooooow CM I understand why. My ds said we could walk to disney and make the card ourselves faster. I also didn't know it won't work on July 4th(bummer) :sunny:

It takes time because the cards are not made onsite by Disney. They are processed through an independent company, and if it is anything like the company a lot of Video stores used to use for their membership cards it workes like this:

1) there is a minimum number of xxx (I think it was 400 for the video store I worked at).
2) The customers names and info are placed onto electonic media (most likely CD-R using todays technology, back then it was tape)
3) The media is shipped to the processing center, who then can take their own sweet time making the cards and shipping them.
4) Disney DDE would receive confirmation after a batch of cards are shipped

It is a time consuming process. DVC cards also take a while to process. No doubt, Disney deems this option to be more economical than buying the equipment to make them onsite...though I don't know why they couldn't use a system similar to what is used for room keys.

After reading the listing of participating restaurants, the one that I did not see was Teppanyani. Did I miss it, or was it added later, or is it just not included?

i sent my fax on tuesday and havent recieved any word that they recieved my info? is it too early to start freaking out? should i just call in and ask them about it?

help :/

So if I called now--I would NOT be able to use it next weekend b/c I wouldn't have the card?

Yes you would be able to use it - you would be able to pick up a temporary "card" (I think it's actually a letter) at Epcot Guest Services.

And is there a list of these 70 establishments....I can think of a couple of places we'll be dining where 20% off would come in handy :)

Lisa,
You can become a DDE member as long as you have your AP (or the voucher?).
Since your trip is so near my guess is they will have you pick up a temporary letter at Guest Services outside of Epcot.

Madhatter -- I have never eaten at Teppanyani. I think I recall reading other's posts that Teppanyani is not included. I do not know either way through personal experience.

ahhhhhhhhhh -- Guessing since they no longer fax temporary membership letters you will just receive yours in the mail -- probably next week.

Is this offered for any time of the day, or only lunch or dinner?

I was hoping for some sort of confirmation through email...but so far nothing, i think ill give them a call tomorrow.

Breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner, beverages. (But don't count on major holidays)

Unfortunately, Teppanyaki does not accept DDE. Of course, they may change their minds...Please, oh Please! We love Teppanyaki!
