A Disney Resort Suite to a DVC Villa. Would someone who is accustomed to staying in suites enjoy DVC?

Are there any similarities? Do the suites have similar amenities or more?

Is there any comparison at all or is it apple and oranges?

Just interested.

I do understand about the MK and concierge services not being available, but a room to room comparison.

First of all the DVC suites are true suites with a seperate living room and bedroom. They have full kitchens with washer and dryers. Many of WDW suites are just one large room with a small love seat or sofa added, maybe an end table or something. The DVC suites run about $450 a night for a one bedroom which is about right all things considered. If you pay $450 at another resort outside of WDW you would get about the same as you will at DVC. The accomodations match the price.

Check out allearsnet for photos of the larger suites(try looking at YC), then check out the DVC photos at BCV.

Liferbabe, are you asking about a studio DVC or a 1 bedroom? I personally don't think a studio is much better than any hotel room with a little kitchenette ( I have seen one but not stayed in one.) The one bedroom on the other hand has a seperate bedroom/living area, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer....much nicer than a hotel suite. We have 4 kids so it will be 2 bedroom units for us for a while. Even if we just had 1 or 2 kids I feel that a studio would be tight, although I understand folks wanting to conserve points, and if you don't spend much time in the room anyway you would feel differently I'm sure. We like to cook some and have room to relax in the room. Oh yeah, and the 1 bedroom gives you the whirlpool tub too!!! Lacee

Lacee,
I guess what Im asking, is does WDW have any suites that are comparable in size and amenities to DVC's 1 bdr/2 bdr or GV?

I briefly recall seeing a suite on one of the Travel Chan. specials, but Im not sure if that was a DVC villa or a Resort Suite.

I know the suites at Disney Resorts can cost 1000's per night, so I was wondering what the differences are in the size and amenities of the actual units.

Go to this site and see for yourself.

check out ****************

OK...they have it blocked for some reason (wonder what the story is there?)...I'll PM you.

I've only stayed in a suite at WL. It was very expensive and much more cramped than a DVC 1-bedroom. The living room was barely larger than the open sofabed, with a short counter that contained a tiny fridge, microwave and sink.

Since they've apparently banned the poster and the website, I've sent you the link by email.

I was able to look at the site.

The suites are definitely more "guilded" than DVC Villas, but they do look smaller and I can definitely tell the difference in the amenities.

I was wondering why a suite would cost so much more than DVC villas per night. There are definitely fewer suites and the concierge services probably add alot to the cost.

Thanks Again!
