Hello-
I am planning a trip to Disney from September 30 through October 7th - flights are already booked. Since the free dining promotion doesn't start until October 2nd, I am not able to take advantage of this offer for the entire length of my stay.

As a result, I was going to book a room only for September 30th for 2 nights - and then book the free dining package from October 2nd through the 7th. However, this will leave me short for tickets on the first two days of my trip. Someone suggested that I include a 7-day park hopper pass to the free dining package - and then pick the tickets up early, so I could use it the entire length of my vacation.

Does anyone know if this is possible - and if so, how would I go about doing this?

Thanks for your help!!!

I'm wondering this too. We will be there the same time and have a room only before package reservation. I wonder if you get your tickets when you check in because I heard you can get tickets up to 3 days before your package starts?? Can it be done at check in?

I'm wondering the same thing--we check in for room only 12/10--then FD starting 12/11:confused3

Yes, you can pick up your tickets up to 3 days in advance.

Check out Cheshire Figment's post #15 at the bottom under Everything about WDW tickets in the theme park section.

Cheshire Figment answerEd a post on this topic on the Theme Parks Attractions and Strats board about 15 min ago. If I could post the link I would, but I am using my cell phone so I can't. He is very knowledgable on this topic. Please go and read his response. I think you will find it helpful.

We did this exact thing last year. We arrived at 8pm on Friday (Friday and Saturday nights were blacked out for Free Dining b/c of marathon weekend and we were actually staying off site) at Epcot, went to guest services and although it took a while, we got our tixs that were attached to our Free Dining package that wasn't supposed to start till Sunday. Once we checked in on Sunday, they put it all on our room keys...dining, tixs, etc.

It CAN be done.

I just got off the phone with an agent after booking a split stay to get the FD promotion and she said that they received a memo today stating that guests will no longer be allowed to pick up tickets early on a package. Buying a one day ticket for everyone will cancel out the FD savings-so, do we take a chance that she is wrong or not?

She's not wrong. Guest Relations has to get an approval code from DRC to do this. Those approval codes will no longer be issued.

Wow-this will impact a lot of people-I hope others see this thread...

If this is true, I'll go stay offsite somewhere and go to Universal the one day I am blacked out. I'm not paying full price for a single day ticket.

Unless Chesire Figment tells us this is changing, he has more then earned the benefit of always being right on this.

I would believe that it is not going to be a problem...regardless of the unfounded answers to the contrary on the boards.

There have always been people stating that it could not happen - but it always seems to. Not throwing darts, just stating the reality.

Also - my CM that I talked to went through all of the directions with me to make this happen for my upcoming trip. We will be picking up 2 days before our FD package begins.

My CM pointed out to me yesterday that this could not be done. That being said, I'd trust Chesire Figment since this is what he handles daily. You can call 10 times in a row and get 10 different answers from 10 different CM's. So frustrating!!

Plus the sticky for tickets thread clearly states how cms can do it... I think that many people have not even looked at post #15 of the sticky ticket thread
