Can it FINALLY be true?????

What's wrong with the Lion King?

Disney completely plagiarized a Japanese Anime when creating the Lion King. Of course the Japanese studio never sued Disney. Either Disney intimidated them with legal action or, even worse, had an "agreement" with them in the first place.
It's kind of like the whole Peter Pan debacle accept the character and scenery art was directly stolen. Either way they've been bald face lying about this and it is the absolute lowest they've ever sunk.

I just got back from a DL trip and I finally have a fresh comparison of the two Tiki rooms in mind. I like the outside wait of the DL version with the rundown of the Tiki gods. Not only is it entertaining but it is also educational.
I think DW would be much better off doing a pre show version of this in their queue line. The DL version was a little campy but at DW they could definitely supersize and modernize the theme to greater effect as they have lots of room.
I will agree, once inside, the DL Tiki room flows a little better and is less argumentive. However there are 4 main birds in the DL version and they do take jabs at each other.
Also, the DL attraction does feel pretty dated as the voices and songs are reminiscent of crooners like Dean Martin and/or comedy bits from the I Love Lucy show.
I think I have to give a small nod overall to the inside DW version though. The Tiki goddess is much more entertaining and impressive (DL version just has a fountain).
Also, that part of the DL attraction made no sense. You somehow anger the Tiki gods, sans the goddess popping out, with the commotion you've been a part of in the Tiki room. Yet more singing and continuation of the activities somehow appeases them. Small nick pick really.
So if DW got rid of the annoying birds and put more Tiki god action outside I think it would be a far superior attraction to what it is now.

I've seen the tiki room featuring Stitch in Tokyo..it's actually a decent show! Much better than the current tiki room show in WDW

Haven't been to The Tiki Room since the last time I saw it under The Iago And Zazu revamp.

Hopefully whatever comes next will be better.

it isn't a ride, it's a show ;)

A very good show until Pressler (Former WDW Vice President) wanted something different . Then The Imagineers ran with it. That's my take on things.

Iago and Zazu could've had the pre-show all to themselves at the beginning
but I digress.

well they both stole from Hamlet

well they both stole from Hamlet

Nice try, Hamlet is public domain being some 400 years old. Also neither present day firms copied WS's art renditions, stole his visual settings and/or characters portrayals used in his plays.
Not to mention, neither firm is vehemently denying the plot is based off of or similar in some ways to Hamlet. On top of it William is certainly not being threatened with legal action should he object to the current uses of his plot.
To round it all off both corporations are not claiming to have sent all their artists to Denmark to observe incumbent murdering kings and revenge seeking princes in the wild in order to better animate them on the screen when in reality they just stole them from WS's plays.

As classic and cool as the original Tiki room is, I just can't shake the feeling that its time has come and gone. It's wasn't one of the more popular attractions, so naturally they changed it. Now it's apparantly even more not popular, so it makes sense that they'll change it again. And after they do, it'll probably have a little spike in popularity as everybody scrambles to check it out and see what they did with it before dropping back down to a level where it'll be put under consideration for another change.

New Management is really painful, I for one would welcome at least a new attempt.

LOL try saying that over on a Disneyland forum and duck.... this attraction is timeless and very entertaining.... if WDW had kept it maintained properly back in the late 80s/early 90s this conversion to UNM would have likely never happened.

WDW - dumbed down the show to be Hip.....and fixed the attraction building.

DLR - shortened the original a bit, but otherwise it is the same show...and fixed the attraction building.

WDW - UNM is mentioned as much as the Tomorrowland Stitch attraction as being the most reviled on WDW property

DLR - Has special merchandise events for the their Tiki Room, special events such as the birthday of the attraction, and they even have the Tiki Room song as part of their Remember Dreams Come true fireworks presentation.

Moral of the story is: Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room has people laughing, singing, clapping, etc!!!! The WDW's Under New Management show is a much "different" affair....

i just wish they'd bring back the original Tiki Room. to me, stitch is not an improvement.

I agree
I loved the original Tiki Room

I don't like stitch and the New Tiki Room.

I want Disney to be a "Happy Place" again.
Where you can forget your troubles for a time and enjoy the beauty of the park.

Sadly, it have become more of a scary place in the eyes of little ones.

Hey, the original song is catchy, I listen to it every once in a while, and I bob to the music. But for me, the show was meh. Actually, neither show has made me laugh, sing, clap, or etc. Especially Under New Management. That sucked.

The show building was nice, though. I liked the work they put into the interior.

Agreed.

Is it at all possible to keep some of what Walt created??? I loved the original Tiki room, but my children recognize the new characters. And so they enjoy it too. I just really hate to see all of what Walt created disappear. the Tikki room was originally designed to be a resteraunt. I think that would be a really neat experience. Eating in a room full of birds & flowers that moved & sang. dinner show. Not as loud though.

I too love the original tiki room! As long as it stays, even with stich, I think its better than not having it.

A little OT - but my real-life parrots LOVE the song from the "Tiki" room....we play it for them all the time, those bird-brains .

I actually rather like the Tiki room, but cannot fathom if Stitch was added, not sure I would like it. As for AE, that was an intense attraction, it did my 40-something DH in for the evening :scared1:.

LOL I can see RL birds bouncing around to the music.

I cannot stress how much I loved AE. I totally understand why Disney decided to retheme it to Stitch though. After I first rode AE I was like OMG I can't believe Disney would make something that scary and violent.
However it was a very original concept and now that it is gone you'll never see the likes of it again.

For me, part of the magic is the nostalgia, :hippie: hence my love for the original tiki room. I am not loving the UNM, so if I can't have the old one back, at least 86 this version...
