a great question for phamton. I know you can't use the comp'd pass toward an AP. not sure if the buy one's original sale price can be applied toward an AP.

All the tickets look exactly the same...:confused3

Tickets maybe same. But it does not means US does not know how much you paid for the tickets, they must have detailed record for every tickets they sold. I am 100% sure there is no way we can upgrade the free kids tickets (I have no plan to do that any way). the question now is, what is the cost base for those BOGO free tickets in their computer. My guest is they may let me upgrade my adult tickets, since they are regular price tickets (kids tickets should have a cost base 0). but I need to make a sure before I leave this weekend. I do not want to end up paying full price for UO resort.

The tickets might all look the same but its easy enough to just hand them to the people at guest services and have them scan and tell you which is the adult ticket. I actually think in this case the kids ticket has no value at all and the adult ticket has the full ticket price. But I have to wonder if the fact that its a 3 park ticket might be a problem. Since this ticket includes wet n wild there is no real upgrade path to an AP. Although there are a couple of options here you could always just call universal and ask to cancel the order or ask them to change it to an AP. They might just be able to change it right there on the phone.

But how do you know which one to present for upgrade? I guess you would need to bring everyones?

I think they will just take the price you paid for them and credit that toward the annual pass.

Oh Phamton, where are you???

It is too late for me to cancel the ticket, the tickets is on the way to me already. I called US annual pass today, they told me I will have to wait to the end of my trip to upgrade (maybe because of 3 parks). But I can not wait to the end of my trip, I do not think loews hotel will allow me to show them the AP at check out. I also forget to ask about the BOGO part while I was on the phone. I will call again tomorrow.

The Wet and Wild part muddies the water a bit. I'm assuming they can be upgraded the way Flex rickets can be. With Flextickets, you have to upgrade the first day before you have visited any of the other parks. So in this case, you would need to upgrade the first day at either IoA or Universal and not use the Wet and Wild part.

It can be done but it needs to be done the first day not at the end of your trip. I wish I had a more definitive answer right now but I'll have to find out tomorrow and let you know.

Edited to add: the free tickets can't be upgraded at all, just the ones you paid for.

thanks for your help plamton. Please let me know if you can find more info tomorrow. I am leaving in few days, have to book hotel as soon as I can.

How much does an annual pass cost? Since AAA already gives a 20% discount for PBH I wonder if it would be worth it to do this for three nights?

$170 for annual pass, I am leaving in few days, AP rate at RPH is $129 and AAA rate is $167. for a 4 days stay, the saving is about to cover the AP cost.

Thanks! So I would pay approximately $60 to upgrade one of my passes ($112) I need to see how much I would save by doing this. I definately won't be back within the year.

If you paid $112, means you bought BOGO tickets from UK site or mouserover link too. I do not know if we can upgrade and what amount can be used toward AP. phamton is trying to find the upgrade info for us. lets see what he find out later.

psssst....Phamton is a she.

For the three park deal, the only way to "upgrade" is to call the online ticket store and cancel the order on the tickets you have. They will then have to void them out since they have not been used. Then you can order the AP and pick it up at guest service window. If the problem isn't resolved for you, feel free to call Guest Services and see if they can help you.

You can also do this at the Guest service window when you go but do not use the tickets as they can't be truly upgraded. It is just a credit back on your order and a brand new order. But none of this will work if you use the tickets to enter any park.

Thanks for the info phamton. I also have two BOGO 2 parks/3 days tickets (prepared for next visit). Can I upgrade that one? if so, I can use 2 parks/3 days tickets this time and save the 3 parks/5 days tickets for my next visit.

You can upgrade those. The other tickets are three park tickets and include Wet N Wild. That is shared revenue between Universal and Wet N Wild. Flex tickets and other tickets that include parks outside Universal and IoA can't technically be upgraded. You shouldn't have any trouble upgrading the two park tickets.
