I could have sworn I heard that if you go to this ride at park opening, you can get on this ride even if you're say, 22, 6'0 and 200lbs? And perhaps with a friend who is 24, 5'5 and 140lbs?

I am DYING to get on this ride.. and will be accepting donations in the form of your children. :rotfl:

I've ridden it first thing in the morning without kids. I think it all depends on the line.

Yes, if you make a bee line first thing in the morning, you should be able to get on without any problem. I mean do nothing else, be first one there. You shold be able to, we always have, and we're a little bigger than you guys.
Now, robvia has some good footage of it, but we have a little funnier footage of it:

Yes, you can go first thing in the morning. If you're near the front of the gate (arrive at 8am), you can ride Hulk in the front, Dr. Doom, Spiderman, then high tail it to Pteranondon Flyers before the kid rule goes into effect. After that you head straight to Dueling Dragons for front seat rides on each side. Then you back track to JPRA.

so, are we talking up to an hour after park opens or earlier to try & ride PF?:thumbsup2

The real question should be, WHY? This ride is awful...and I love IOA....but sorry if I didn't have a kid I wouldn't go on it ever again.

We've always wanted to go on it, but the lines have always been longer than we wanted to wait. We also didn't know about the "child" rule not being enforced, so we skipped it since we only had one that hasn't been too tall when we were there and didn't think it was fair to the others to not let them ride.

It all depends on crowds. In the summer time, you'd probably have to go straight to Pteranondon Flyers to get your ride. During non peak times, you can probably do Marvel Island then head over there. There's no exact time when they put the kid rule into effect. They start doing that once the line gets longer. The guard at the line entrance makes the decision.

I've got a kid, although disney considers him an adult;) who happens to luv it:confused3 ; but this trip he's slightly over the height requirement & was bummed out. Whatever floats his boat:) ; it's a nice break from the more strenuous rides for dear old dad and I:rotfl: 'course i'm scared of heights and skip it anyway lol; since it's going so slow it gives me more time to ponder a fall.:upsidedow

Maybe that is why I don't like it :scared1: I did enjoy parasailing though...

DH and I were at IOA last week, late afternoon, and went over to ask if we could ride because we've never done it and thought it could be fun. The staff member was very nice and said we were welcome, but the wait was 45 minutes and they don't have an Express Pass line, so we opted to skip it.

i have gone on it in june and in october.

last october the TM's let adults/solo ones go in the line to ride it.

i got in line at 12:30 and i didn't feel too stupid among the kidlettes in line.

i had to have another passenger on my car though because the line wait was very long at that point.

it is up to the TM at the start of the line for this ride if they will allow adults on it.
one year i was told to be in line before 10:30 or borrow a kid.
last year, no issues going solo and being over kid age.......

the ride is a total of 90 seconds.
it is fun but not not worth standing in line for over 15 minutes imo

Excuse my ignorance but I have been twice and don't remember this ride. What is it and what is the kids rule?

it is located in the jurassic park area on the right side, across from camp jurassic

it is a ride that holds 2 people, front/back seats, and soars over camp jurassic area in a circle.

it lists a ride for children 36 to 56 inches tall. guests over that height must be accompanied by a child.

the ride circles and is somewhat described like a ski lift.

i go on it without kiddos...

when you're going to be there....as soon as you get into IOA, go there. we did it in Feb (all 3 of us) and it was okay to do once, but i wouldn't "wait" any longer than 20minutes, really. Go as soon as you get into the park and you'll be fine....you should get on

I've done it in the past with kids, but last time DW wanted to go on but was told she had to go on with a child.I'll try and get her there early this year.

Scroll down near the bottom of this page and you can see on ride pictures.
Royal Pacific Resort
There's also a link to another page that has an on ride video.

It's a fun ride if you go in the morning and don't have to wait.

Last OCtober, we went at rope drop. We did have kids but they let us all go several times in a row since no one was there.

BTW, DH is your same height but older and a little bit bigger. He enjoyed it!

Go, have fun!

Ive always wanted to try that ride as well.

It seems like I read somewhere that that area was originally supposed to be a different ride...am I just imagining things?
