Can I change kids programs?

We have two daughters aged 5 and 8 and we are going on the 7 day eastern cruise in October. Our youngest girl is shy and may not be willing to stay in the 5-7 program without her big sister. From what I have read we will likely be able to have the older one go with the younger one. However, we think the older one would be happier in the older kids program. Has anyone had any experience with changing a child from one group to the other? We thought after a couple of visits the younger one might be OK on her own. Is the registration for the club and the lab completely seperate? This has to have happened before.

Any help will be appreciated

Well, this will not answer your question but I did want to respond. Our DS5 is typically a pretty aprehensive child. As an example, at the MK he wouldn't approach any of the characters except Snow White and Pooh. In a group of kids he usually takes a while to warm up. . . . .sometimes quite a while.

However, his behavior at the club just knocked our socks off! Maybe it was the whole infectious Disney experience, but we really had to drag him out of there, just as they said in the video:) He usually went there at night after dinner (days were spent in the Mickey pool) and just went wild.

All kids are different, but I thought you might find this useful.

I think you will be able to move your 8 dd up if you want to. We kept our newly turned 13 dd down in the 10-12 year old group in July, because her sister and 2 cousins all fell within that age group. The counselors told us at registration that after trying it, if she wanted to move up it would be no problem, but she was very happy with staying in the 10-12 group.

I think what Hool was asking, was whether the 5 year old would be able to join the 8 & up program with the older child, and I think the answer is "no". DCL knows your child's age and will not allow going up (unless the child is within one month of his/her birthday, which would place them in the next group up).

So your 8 year old can go down a group, but your 5 year old cannot go up a group.
