Can I book a flydrive and not take the car?

Yes , just book your own, but make sure you have not paid Insurance for the car.

It's not for us, it's for friends. We have our flights for December booked and paid already. They want to do a flydrive with Funway(????) but hire their own car, so I thought I'd check if it was allowed. Thanks for the advice

car hire tends to be free with most flydrives, where they make the money is with the insurance.always get your own insurance

We have done this several times - though it has always been with Virgin and we have never had a problem. I can't honestly say if that would be the same through another company. If they are a smaller set up they may try to recoup some of the costs so be careful.

yes I booked thru Major travel last year ,their own fly drive and didnt take the car ,no problems

My last trip was through Funway and I just said that we didn't want to drive and they didn't add it on.

I have found it cheaper this time to take VH's car and insurance. It has never been this way before, even if we took out our own insurance with airport charges it works out more expensive. Can't quite believe it!
