Even with a U.S. address ( I could use a family members address) AND a social security number I couldn't get a Disney Visa...the bank didn't like the fact that my work was all in Canada. I guess I could have gone through another bank or something but, it wasn't worth the hassle to me.
I heard a rumour that Royal Bank here in Canada did approach Disney about offering the Disney Visa for us and even called Royal Bank a year or so ago to inquire about it. They didn't deny or confirm it but, did seem to know something about this.
I am not holding my breath!! LOL!! I'm going to say that last year we vacationed elsewhere because I was so miffed over this, taking away the Disney Club perks AND not offering us a chance to have a Disney Visa. However, I'm over it. I use Northwest Airlines Worldperks and shop their mall! I can run up miles to spend at the
Disney store and get points for that while shopping too. They add up much faster than the Disney Visa card points do!
Oh, and I drove to Syracuse to fly Northwest and applied for Worldperks there. They had no problem with it.
I'm really happy the exchange rate is so good right now!
Am I wrong but, wasn't there some word when the Disney Club was discontinued that there would be something to replace it?? For US too?? Where is that something?

Do we get a free dolewhip??!!
