Well, last night I couldn't sleep so at 2:00 in the morning I was sorting through recipe clippings I had from magazines etc. and tossing them out with great abandon. I have it down to a managable stack of recipes I have used or might actually use. Now I figure it's a good time to put them in the computer.

DH wants me to just scan them and save them. I think I should get a program and input them. I'm hoping to find a program that will index them for me etc., making it easy to just click on "chicken" and pull up all my chicken recipes. Is this what "MasterCook" does? I know people seem to swear by this program and I just wonder what some of the advantages are.

Thanks!

I use MasterCook. It comes with a lot of "cookbooks" and tons of recipes which are easy to search.

You can also create your own cookbooks and organize your recipes anyway you like. You have to enter them which takes more time than scanning but the program also gives you nutritional analysis. If you use an ingredient not in the program's extensive list, you can also enter information for that.

I try recipes before entering them in the program but I collect them so fast, I always have a folder with newspaper clippings and magazine pages of recipes waiting to be entered.

I use it too...........have for several years.
The program also comes with help videos and the ability to make a grocery list.

It's also easy to import recipes from sources online.
I love collecting them and sharing them and this program certainly is a huge help!!
