Can a PTR be therapeutic?YUP!!Addictive?**2/14-I'm home...**

Jordan keep that internet crashing juju over there. My internet starting running slow for a minute this morning and I was sweating.

JORDANNNNNNNNN!

I told you to keep that juju over there! My internet went down for almost 4 1/2 hours today. I just had to go to bed because what else is there to do? Before I fell asleep I said a prayer to the god of the internet to beg for mercy. LOL

All those computers, no internet.......Sleep that's a good option...

Sorry, I didn't want to be alone in my pain....;)

Top Ten WDW Hidden Gems

You know what I am looking forward to most at WDW? Relaxing....yup, I said it, relaxing.:cloud9: :cloud9:

I know that WDW and relaxing are two words that are not usually used in the same sentence, but in my world, no WDW vacation is complete w/o a little down time.

I've come to love certain places around WDW that allow me to kick back and enjoy being on vacation. Here's my top ten in random order:

10. Bellevue Lounge at the Boardwalk Resort. It's a bar (can't get too far from the booze) that is quiet and relaxing. They also have board games and we've played Scrabble there a few times. Who stops long enough to play a board game at WDW? We do because that's how we roll.

9. Solarium Room at BC. It's a room with several comfortable chairs and couches that NO ONE ever uses. I've just sat (or actually laid down) in there for no good reason other than to relax and take a breather.

8. The Bridge to Nowhere at Pop Century. After the pool bar, Petals, closed, I would often walk (stumble) out to the bridge that was supposed to connect the 2 sections of Pop. It never gets used, but there are several benches that overlook Hourglass Lake. It would be the perfect ending to the day. Just sitting enjoying the view of the lake.....I would stay there until I had to go wee.:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

7. Hammocks at CBR. Although I haven't stayed here in awhile. I will always remember the hammocks especially since I once fell asleep in one. So relaxing.

6. Keystone Clothiers at MGM. No place to really sit in here. It's my favorite store at MGM. I can just go in there and browse to see what new T-shirts, etc to purchase.....I usually spend a good 30-45 minutes just in this store. Nothing relaxes me like spending some of my hard earned cash.

5. The Indoor Hallway behind the Character Connection/Club Cool. Not many benches back here. However, when it's really hot outside, I usually duck in here w/ a pop and just chill for 30 minutes or so, people watching.

4. The Aviaries in either Pangani Forest Trail or Maharajah Jungle Trek. I'm not into birds. I'm not particularly into animals. But put that card in my hand w/ all the bird pictures on it and I can't leave until I've seen most of them.....:confused3. However, what it really does is gimme a break from commando touring....:thumbsup2

3. Castaway Creek at Typhoon Lagoon. Innertube, river, sleep. Need I say more?

2. ESPN Club. Man = sports, booze, pub grub.

1. Any bench facing Crescent Lake on the Boardwalk. Just sitting on any bench here for any length of time reminds me that yes, I am on vacation at WDW. :thumbsup2

The Bellevue Lounge sounds awesome.

I love playing boardgames. And what could be better than a drink and a board game at the happiest place on earth?

We weren't sure about one of the rules and went to look. The only rules were in Espanol.....

Sounds nice! We are going to have to check some of those out. I would love to work Typhoon Lagoon into our trip but it just seems too cold for me in February!!

The Bellevue Lounge sounds nice. Maybe we'll go play a board game ourselves.

I like the white rocking chairs in front of Yacht Club. We spent about 15 minutes there one afternoon when we were tired and waiting for our cruise time. It was nice. DD fell asleep in DH's lap, and it was sooo stinkin' cute. (Too bad we forgot the camera that day!)

I'm hoping one of the 14 days that I'm there will be warm enough for me to make it to TL.

I'll have to check those rocking chairs out. There are some in front of the BC as well, but alot of people use the area to smoke and I'm sensitive to smoke....:confused3

The atmosphere in the Bellevue is nice. They have a quiet balcony area as well. That's nice too as long as they keep it clean.

They have at least one at CSR too and they always look so inviting. Next time we go to CSR I think I am definitely going to try it out

My favorite store in MGM, too! I spend lots of time and money here

We found this for the first time on our October trip. I was like "why didn't I ever come in here before??" It was empty and although I had to take a seat on the floor, it was much nicer to be SITTING in the AIR CONDITIONING than STANDING/WALKING in the 95° HEAT.

4. The Aviaries in either Pangani Forest Trail or Maharajah Jungle Trek. I'm not into birds. I'm not particularly into animals. I am an animal lover so I really enjoy going through the aviaries as well as the rest of the MJT or PFT. Everyone else just kind of runs through it, if they go at all, and I have been known to spend a good 30 minutes taking pictures of the tigers alone. The whole tour takes me about an hour to an hour and a half on average. Definitely a way to get away from Commando Touring! Here's one of my favorite pics from MJT:

And YES, it probably is time for me to start my PTR.... maybe tomorrow.... Didn't I say that, like, 2 weeks ago?? :rolleyes1

If I wasn't with others, I would probably spend more time on the Trails as well. Maybe in February. I have a solo day at AK.:thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 I am familiar with #3, or as I call it the lazy river. We floated it after having a few margaritas :cloud9: Perfection!

I agree, you do need to slow down and relax a bit when you're at Disney. To much go, go, go is exhausting. Of course, if ED read that he would LOL because he thinks I don't relax enough.

We really enjoyed some down time at the Iron Spike Room at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge. Comfy leather chairs, a fireplace, even checkers if you'd like to play.

So peaceful!

I'm sure this won't come as much of surprise to you, but in 1992, my cousin and I went to TL after a late night of drinking. Needless to say, I wasn't feeling too well. After bobbing up and down on my inner tube, I jumped off and headed to the nearest exit. The lazy river almost became a little chunkier......

If I knew I was only going once every 4-5 years, my approach would be much different. However, on average I've been going once a year. Going so often definitely allows me the luxury of relaxation.

I love the Iron Spike Room. We spent a rainy afternoon there in Feb 02.

there, PTR off and running! :rotfl:

I'll check in right after I'm done here.

That tiger looks like he found a pretty good place to relax :goodvibes

Yup.....:thumbsup2

I agree. It's soo important to just chill. I absolutely LOVE just kicking back at the pool area, reading a book, and sipping something frosty & alcoholic. :thumbsup2

I hear you about pool time. I'm hoping to get a few afternoons to relax by the pool w/ alcohol as well.....
