Top Ten WDW Hidden Gems
You know what I am looking forward to most at WDW? Relaxing....yup, I said it,
relaxing.
I know that WDW and relaxing are two words that are not usually used in the same sentence, but in my world, no WDW vacation is complete w/o a little down time.
I've come to love certain places around WDW that allow me to kick back and enjoy being on vacation. Here's my top ten in random order:
10.
Bellevue Lounge at the Boardwalk Resort. It's a bar (can't get too far from the booze) that is quiet and relaxing. They also have board games and we've played Scrabble there a few times. Who stops long enough to play a board game at WDW? We do because that's how we roll.
9.
Solarium Room at BC. It's a room with several comfortable chairs and couches that
NO ONE ever uses. I've just sat (or actually laid down) in there for no good reason other than to relax and take a breather.
8.
The Bridge to Nowhere at Pop Century. After the pool bar, Petals, closed, I would often walk (stumble) out to the bridge that was supposed to connect the 2 sections of Pop. It never gets used, but there are several benches that overlook Hourglass Lake. It would be the perfect ending to the day. Just sitting enjoying the view of the lake.....I would stay there until I had to go wee.
7.
Hammocks at CBR. Although I haven't stayed here in awhile. I will always remember the hammocks especially since I once fell asleep in one. So relaxing.
6.
Keystone Clothiers at MGM. No place to really sit in here. It's my favorite store at MGM. I can just go in there and browse to see what new T-shirts, etc to purchase.....I usually spend a good 30-45 minutes just in this store. Nothing relaxes me like spending some of my hard earned cash.
5.
The Indoor Hallway behind the Character Connection/Club Cool. Not many benches back here. However, when it's really hot outside, I usually duck in here w/ a pop and just chill for 30 minutes or so, people watching.
4.
The Aviaries in either Pangani Forest Trail or Maharajah Jungle Trek. I'm not into birds. I'm not particularly into animals. But put that card in my hand w/ all the bird pictures on it and I can't leave until I've seen most of them.....

. However, what it really does is gimme a break from commando touring....
3.
Castaway Creek at Typhoon Lagoon. Innertube, river, sleep. Need I say more?
2.
ESPN Club. Man = sports, booze, pub grub.
1.
Any bench facing Crescent Lake on the Boardwalk. Just sitting on any bench here for any length of time reminds me that yes, I am on vacation at WDW.
