Can a PTR be therapeutic?YUP!!Addictive?**2/14-I'm home...**

Uhhgggg, that's happened to me before and I call up Bob in a panic and he flies right over. He lives for that stuff. I've been known to go to the library which is only 2 miles away and hog up one of their computers. :surfweb:

(if you remember, dumb Asian here)
This still cracks me up.:lmao:

nocomputer002.jpg
OH MY. It did mess you up. No tongue hanging out of your mouth.

Umm....I don't think any of us here can be involved in an intervention, unless we are being intervention-ed (Intervened?) ourselves.....:rolleyes1

Glad you got things working, even if not optimally. I am always at a loss when my internet goes down!

Oh, and be careful, thumb sucking is addicting....just ask my ds!

An addict goes cold turkey

Okay so this past Monday, I woke up; worked in the morning and expected a nice leisurely afternoon catching up on the DIS. Much to my surprise....

the internet was not working :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I checked the connections, checked the router.....I really didn't know what I was looking for (if you remember, dumb Asian here)...but I knew I needed to get it fixed and quick. I was starting to break out in a cold sweat and shaking....

An hour past, still no internet

Two hours past....no internet

3,4,5 hours past still no internet....

When it rolled around to about 7 hours w/o the internet. I started glazing over...

At about 12 hours without the internet, I rolled up into the fetal position and started sucking my thumb....

th_nocomputer001.jpg

My roommate came home and rewired the connection so we could use the desktop...However, we went from 3 laptops and a desktop to 3 people sharing just one desktop. I was only able to jump on the computer once in the morning and the then once after midnight last night.

That was nerve racking to me and I got the shakes again.....

The problem is with the router. My roommate purchased a new one, but has yet to install it......so still only 1 computer. Luckily today, neither of my roommates has desired to spend that much time on the computer so I've been able to DIS at will tonight........PHEW...

I can't wait til tomorrow when all is right with the world and I can again sit on the couch; watch a bit of TV and cruise the DIS........:woohoo: :woohoo:

I actually didn't realize how addicted I was until I couldn't have it.......Maybe I do need that intervention.:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

 is how I feel when there is no internet, so I completely understand the fetal position.

We have four desktops and two laptops so that I can dis from anywhere in the house. :surfweb: That my friend is an addiction!

I have to get to work because my binder is feeling inadequate. I have never decorated her all pretty like you guys have. I am off to see the wizard!

We're here for you Man....You'll get through this..if you really can't take it any more head over to Best Buy and pretend you are in the market for a new computer..:cool1:

Jordy - you have now beat all. I would love to meet the patient, and apparently very open-minded, person who takes all these pictures for you!! This must be a great friend!!! Or are you using a tripod and a timer???

Either way - thanks for the laugh!!!:rotfl:

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

That is my same reaction to no internet!:scared1: As a stay at home mom, it is one of the biggest ways for me to stay in touch with the rest of the world, current events, etc.

Oh My Goodness NO, NO, NO.

I checked the connections, checked the router.....I really didn't know what I was looking for (if you remember, dumb Asian here)...but I knew I needed to get it fixed and quick. I was starting to break out in a cold sweat and shaking....

Thanks Jordan I laughed so much soda was coming out my nose (yep it's a bad visual but you deserve it ;))

Have you ever laughed so much you still laughing but no sound is coming out?? Yes, that was me after the "fetal position" picture. Bill was wondering what the heck was wrong with me until I turned my laptop around and showed it to him. Then he understood :thumbsup2.

Ok, by the 3rd hour I would have been taking my laptop somewhere to hook up to the free wi fi. I can't believe you didn't do that :confused3.

I can't wait til tomorrow when all is right with the world and I can again sit on the couch; watch a bit of TV and cruise the DIS........:woohoo: :woohoo:

Ahhhh, sitting on the couch, watching TV and cruising the DIS, what a good time will be had. I love doing that too :rotfl:.

I actually didn't realize how addicted I was until I couldn't have it.......Maybe I do need that intervention.:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

If you need an intervention, everyone on your PTR needs one too :lmao:. I can give up a lot in life, but not being able to DIS??

NOPE NEVER AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!!

Fantastic installment Jordan, you always crack me up!!:rotfl2:

Here is hoping everything gets fixed with your internet connections!:badpc:

Our satellite has a habit of only going out when we REALLY want to watch something on TV!

Our prayers are with you in your time of need!

That happend to us one night last week! No internet, and NO CABLE - NO ESPN!!!! I told DH that he might have to talk to me :scared1: Luckily, it was only a 3 hour space of torture, and we had a Blockbuster movie on hand for emergencies!!!! :rotfl2:

Know how you feel Jordan Our desktop was a mess ! Took for ever to successfully oost anything! Just got my new laptop hooked up and running and it's just mine !!

How nice is that. None of the computers in our house are actually mine. Although, I probably use one of the laptops almost exclusively now....

Jordan I feel your pain, I check email all day long. I'm surprised you and binder didn't go to a coffee shop with the laptop to Dis.

Of course in my panic, I didn't even think to take the laptop to Starbucks right down the street...Remember always--dumb Asian here.

Uhhgggg, that's happened to me before and I call up Bob in a panic and he flies right over. He lives for that stuff. I've been known to go to the library which is only 2 miles away and hog up one of their computers. :surfweb:

Leyla!!!! I miss you.

Hmm....where's the closest library to here? I'll have to check that one out.

OH MY. It did mess you up. No tongue hanging out of your mouth.

I was in a catatonic state by that point. I tried, but the tongue just hung there.;)

I didn't realize how tied to the computer I was until I didn't have it--a bit scary. I was actually pretty wacky.

LOL!
Oh! You poor baby!!

(I would have been the same way!)

Here's some pixiedust to make it all better... pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

We're here for you Man....You'll get through this..if you really can't take it any more head over to Best Buy and pretend you are in the market for a new computer..:cool1:

Hey Goofster!!!!!! I thought about Best Buy or Circuit City, but thought about the crowds.....

Jordy - you have now beat all. I would love to meet the patient, and apparently very open-minded, person who takes all these pictures for you!! This must be a great friend!!! Or are you using a tripod and a timer???

Either way - thanks for the laugh!!!:rotfl:

My roommates take the pictures. They just shake their heads. I'm lucky they're so accommodating. Otherwise, I seriously think I would come home one day and all my stuff would be on the front lawn:eek:

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

That is my same reaction to no internet!:scared1: As a stay at home mom, it is one of the biggest ways for me to stay in touch with the rest of the world, current events, etc.

Besides the DIS, I'm on ESPN or TSN constantly......

We missed you...

I think I'll be missing you in about oh.....NINE DAYS!!!!!

Here is hoping everything gets fixed with your internet connections!:badpc:

Yes, several of these PTR/TRs have given me gut busting laughs.

Ok, by the 3rd hour I would have been taking my laptop somewhere to hook up to the free wi fi. I can't believe you didn't do that :confused3.

You must remember. Low wattage here....In other words, think polar opposite than Bill.:lmao:

Ahhhh, sitting on the couch, watching TV and cruising the DIS, what a good time will be had. I love doing that too :rotfl:.

It's what I do best. Too bad you can't make a career out of it.;)

If you need an intervention, everyone on your PTR needs one too :lmao:. I can give up a lot in life, but not being able to DIS??
