I am an admitted park commando. MAJOR park hopping, detail planning, ADR tinkering, rope drop nut job. So my question is...
For other commandos...were you able to relax at Vero Beach? I sit here and think I could enjoy some peace and quiet and relax at a lovely beach resort. But can I??? My husband...FOR SURE. I can picture him snoozing on the beach/by the pool. The three older kids... definitely. But I'd have to chase a 2 year old around! No relaxing for me anyway I guess! Plus...it would be in August. Is the resort enjoyable in such heat?

After 12 years of visiting Disney once or twice a year, I for the very first time on this past trip (March 2011) took some time to lounge around the pool. This was under protest of course, but my family was begging for it. WOW, WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!! It made me realize I need to slow down, let my mind and body relax, and just vegetate for a while. Now, I can't wait to go back and spend even more time around the pool and the resort to just chill.

There really isn't a whole lot to do besides go to the pool or beach. It's a great way to unwind after the world for a couple days but I'd be bored there for much longer than 3...
