camping in Fl the last week in august

are we crazy? any advice about what temperatures to expect( no air in the van)...how bad are the bugs? this is for a business trip to Vero Beach, maybe Sebastian Inlet. we've camped at Fw but only in the winter and thinking this might be atotoally different experience...any advice would be helpful. ( last min. trip and would rather save our hotel expenses to go toward our WDW trip this fall)

We are camping at FW in Aug. also, but our camper has a/c. I think it would be super HOT without the air in Aug. Do you have a few small fans for the van? You will certainly need some sort of bug spray too, it gets pretty buggy at night. Good luck, I hope someome has more info for you!

I can tell you it has been HOT and HUMID here as of late. I would definitely bring a fan or two. Lately it has been raining alot, so the mosquitos are everywhere. I would bring bug spray, they (mosquitos) have been brutal.

hmmm, that 's kind of what i was afraid of so I may be checking into ap rates for vero disney !

Another thought.............with summer rain, you wouldn't be able to have the windows open in your van.......it may just be to hot. Why not look into a night at the All Stars? They seem very reasonalbe. Again, lots of luck.

the problem is ( was) my husband's meeting is in Vero beach about 2 hrs away from wdw....(although last night we did decide to sneak in a few days at wdw since i can get a pretty good ap rate for the mods. or deluxe and we'll be "so close" anyway!( talk about a sickness.) Disney Vero Beach is still high but i can get a cheaper hotel rate someplace else since it's off season at VB, I just wanted something cheaper yet but not if we won't be able to sleep
