As usual GREAT SHOT :worship: :worship: :worship:

This guy was already pictured on the first page of this thread (wool cap), but I love this one, too...

No, I noticed it too, but I thought that maybe it was a foreign name, and, therefore, okay. :)

Okay, so I've made the leap to RAW and decided on LR2 because I just found it much more user friendly. I have read Scott Kelby's book cover to cover and am managing just about everything fairly easily but the WB. It seems no matter what I do I end up with some kind of color cast. He suggests using a grey point but do you know how hard it is to find neutral grey in a picture? Do any of you use white? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Oh yeah and I thought maybe the cast was being caused by upping the vibrancy but when I take it back to zero, the cast is still there.

I am interested in this question- wierd color casts are the #1 thing that I find irritating in LR. I watch the program open all the files and then go back and mess up all the colors and I spend most of the time just trying to get back where I started! I find it very frustrating.

BTW- White is usually fine to click on for WB- just as long as it is not a blown out highlight.

To be absolutely sure you have a neutral grey point, put it there yourself.
The easiest thing to do is make sure you have a neutral grey card in the first shot of any series under each new lighting condition.

As long as you're processing in lighroom or ACR it's foolproof.

Any examples?
Yes, sorry, I had to run and didn't have a chance to upload.
Here is "as shot" they're a little yellow:

Here's what I thought was okay until I got it into PSP, I see a green overcast:

Really like their skin tones in this one in PSP (or I did, they look overexposed now) Now it could be I've just been looking at it too long but his shirt still seems a little green to me:

I shot these all in Adobe RGB so that's why look faded, however they were converted to sRGB so they shouldn't be. The deeper I get the harder it gets and the more frustrated I get. Oy, what looked decent looks like crap now...:(

Looking for some advice on what bag to carry while at Disney in Feb.
I usually shoot with a Canon XSi, with 1 or 2 lenses (17-55 & 70-300) and a few other pieces of gear (filters, extra card case, p&s backup cam, etc)
Currently I have a Lowepro Slingshot 200, but I'm worried that it will be too bulky and heavy for multiple days at the park, (and worried what I will do with it while on rides).
Does anyone have advice on what they have had success with? How much gear to you carry around, and in what kind of bag?
My ideal would be to carry 1 or 2 lenses, cards and have some room left over for books brochures etc, but in a smaller bag than the slingshot. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!
Adam

Backpack & sling are preferable, also pushing a stroller most of the time for this trip.

So I've been using the Crumpler 6 Million dollar home for about a month now and it's been fine. (Can't actually say that I love it yet.) There's one more zoom lens I want to get and I think that even with that, it will be ok fully loaded.

Here's the newest problem, though. I picked up an 8" Netbook, primarily for travel, but also to bring places around home with me from time to time. I'd love to be able to store the netbook in this bag for those times (but obviously would leave in safe at WDW). Problem is, there's no place for a laptop with the 6 MDH or even the larger ones that I can tell.

I did, however, find another type of Crumpler bag that I believe would do the trick, called a New Delhi bag. This would be perfect for me. Unfortunately, it's only sold in Europe as far as I can tell. I tried to order one of AmazonUK but they won't ship to the US. AmazonUSA could not get one for me through them, I called. :confused3 Crumpler USA never responded to my emails. I've searched everywhere I can think of and cannot find one for sale in the US. I did get in touch with a person who customizes Crumpler bags (with pictures on the front and such, not design) and he said that Crumpler has two different markets, USA and European. So I guess it's not available from the USA makers. I'm not sure what else to do at this point. Any ideas?

I carried my Slingshot 200 all day every day on our last trip without any problems, and I was carrying 5 lenses + extras. On rides, I just put it between my feet. The only one that is a real stretch for me is Space Mountain, but I'm 6'8" so it's a stretch (or rather a cram and fold) for me no matter what.

I can see how you'd want something smaller with just 2 lenses, though... that's quite a bit of empty space to be carrying. I've looked at getting a smaller bag (though I don't have one yet) and I like the Tamrac Velocity 6x since I really like the sling style, though it doesn't have much space leftover with camera + 2 lenses in it.

I see that you aren't female ;) but I bumped up a thread for you which might be a little helpful anyway. Some of the main manufacturers of bags are mentioned there. Actually, I think the Slingshot does a nice job and is fairly easy to both carry and access, but you won't be able to keep a book in there, which is a reason similar to why I got something besides the Slingshot, too. Good luck.

Since this thread got bumped, figured I might as well add that I got the Tracy Job Kristen bag for Christmas (per Susan aka Chikabowa's recommendation earlier in the thread) and so far, I love it.

It's big enough right now to hold my D60 body with the 18-200mm vr lens on it, the 50mm f/1.8, the 60mm f/2.8 micro, the 18-55 kit lens, the SB600 flash and some memory cards/my gorillapod/cleaning pen. With all that loaded in and worn as a messenger bag, it's really comfortable. Doesn't dig into my shoulder at all and still has plenty of extra room to toss in a water bottle or a Passporter, etc. While I haven't taken it out for a full day of shooting yet (I probably won't get around to that until the end of March because of the stinky NJ winter), I do bring it to work with me everyday in case I feel like walking around shooting on lunch.

Definitely for the price and comfort, I would give this bag 1.5 thumbs up, the only thing that might make it two would be if it was made of some sort of water resistant/proof material so I wouldn't have to worry about using it if it was starting to drizzle while I was out, etc. As it is right now, it's made from what seems to be cotton...so it'll be sopping up any precipitation that may land on it.
