I need to call the States but am really struggling to find a company who can tell me a actual price of the call.

Is anyone on TalkTalk and called the USA before? If so could you recommend the company to me?(the ones where you dial a access code)

I just dont want a stonking great bill to arrive!!!

Thanking you :)

I have a number I use from my mobile which is an 0844 number:lmao: it is 1p a minute to the states.I used it to book my cruise and was on the phone 20 mins and it cost me around a £1(cus of mobile rates) 08447200000

Free...that would be nice, I think, from what I have read, I have not got that package.

I phoned earlier and asked them for some prices of the call costs (read out a few numbers) and they guy at talk talk basically did a "computer says no"

Scottishgirl87, are you with talk talk? Is the 0.5p a min the rate that was charged on your bill?

Thanks all for your quick replies!

were on the any time package were call are free 24/7 plus the broad band
Think you might be on were its off peak calls only free
Then again going to 02 soon as better package

I am on TalkTalk, added the International calling plan as well think its £2.50 a month, all calls to states are free, Including mobiles

i'm on whatever the cheapest Talk Talk package is for broadband and as I said my calls to USA are free.

Sorry no, I'm on Virgin Media but I assumed if you went through one of those numbers it wouldn't really matter who you're with. I've used Discount Dial quite a few times and never had any billing issues.

You are correct. It does not make a difference who your service provider is, as you don't make the call through your provider. The call is dialled and you are connected to the discount service provider and the call is made through them. Who your provider is becomes irrelevant as soon as you dial the access code.

We just use Skype when we want to call anywhere in the world. Because you prepay to your account there are no billing problems and the cost for a call to the US, or anywhere in the world for that matter, is around about 1.6p a minute

Thank you all for your info!

I found a tool on the Money Saving Expert site that listed lots of access numbers and the connection charges so if there is anyone alse that is curious it was pretty easy to check.

Now just need to call Disney cruise and get excited about my hols!:yay:
