We have recently closed on our first contract (SSR) and everything is now with Disney - so just waiting on those points...

Our broker has indicated that we probably won't have the physical points/notification from Disney for another 4 weeks or so which would put us right at the 7 month window for a mid April 2021 trip. Any longer and we'd be beyond the 7 month booking window.

As we are coming from the UK there are quite a few things to organise and some of the flights are going significantly up in price. The airlines are also doing deals where there are free cancellation options until the end of the month because of Covid.

Is there any way Disney would speed up our contract if we called them? I am reluctant to book the flights until we actually have the points but equally I don't want to risk missing being able to book SSR for the 3 weeks. For following years we will try and do split stays but I think this year given the timing and how far into our UY we will be I don't think this will be possible.

If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated. I am assuming it is going to be just ride it out but I wanted to think I could push DVC into at least allowing us to book as we do have the points, they just aren't physically there yet!

Mine took three weeks after closing — and that was in fully staffed 2019. Emails and calls did nothing.
 
Sorry to say that no preferential treatment as you haven’t bought direct.
You will probably get a car sticker and a magazine every 6 months like me.
The room availability charts show that SSR studios are usually available at 6 months for the period of time you are going....but lots of people have points they couldn’t use this year so I can only assume there will be a bit more competition next year. The offset to that is that borrowing is limited to 50% atm.

You can call MS on UK number or if you can log in you can use online chat but it’s not going to help I’m afraid.

Thanks - I figured as much. Would just be gutting that our first trip as members we couldn't actually go. Fingers crossed the points come in the next two weeks so we are just before the 7 month booking window.

I don't suppose you have the UK number do you?
 
Sadly it takes a long time.
It was 42 days for ROFR
It took another 30 days to close
I closed on 8th July and the contract is not showing at Disney yet.
 
Unfortunately not. I'm in a similar position to you, I put an offer in back in April and thought I'd have the points by July to book for our February trip. There were 45 days between closing date and getting our membership details and the points still aren't loaded. I have emailed to try chase them up but they've just said it can take 10 business days for points to load & should have them by Friday.
 
Right now, things are taking longer and the last time I tried to call, they are not even answering. You have to email. I am thinking since they are still short staffed due to furloughs, and so many resale buyers wanting contracts loaded, they knew it would be an issue,

I closed July 7th, and still don’t see my contract in my account or points loaded. I have some points expiring November 30th and hoping yo be able to use them to cover a few nights of my October trip.

I emailed over 10 days ago and still no response. Based on reports, the contract should be loaded this week, and assume points will show up by end of August.
