Calling all Princesses! (2014 Princess Half Marathon Weekend)- thread #2

I am in B. If any of you were around for the first Princess races, men were allowed in B. This change was made back to B for safety issues and proper corralling to some extent.

Although I would guess that even in the early Princess years, A was probably a couple thousand runners, not 500. At this point, just let men run in any corral except Elite, IMO.

I'm bib number 8XX, submitted proof of a 1:50 estimated finish, and in Corral C. Wow - significant change in the corrals from previous years. Really thought I'd be in a women-only starting corral. Anyone else in Corral C?

So I am a little annoyed. I registered and submitted my proof from last year's Disney half, and it clearly took, and I am in corral E. DH says he submitted his time online at registration like me (although I'm not sure he followed directions), but he is back in Corral I. Now, not a huge deal, I will just go back and join him, but I was looking forward to being a little more ahead so I could actually relax a bit and get some pictures etc....

I called the run Disney phone number, and left a message in the "prof of time/corral) voicemail, but what's chance do you think I have of actually getting his corral changed?

Ugh. Not a huge deal, just annoying.

I can't find any proof he submitted his time. Although, to be fair, I can't find proof I submitted mine either. When I click on "view complete registration" in my confirmation email, I get a "you are not authorized to view this info" message.

Question for you all. I'm running the GSC and found my waiver for those races. The waiver site says it reflects registrations before 1/27/2014. I registered for the 5K just this past Wednesday. I don't see a waiver for that race, which makes sense. But will my waiver for the 5K be available for printing when the official waiver site comes out??? Or will I have to contact run Disney??

Thanks for the help
Diane

Perfect opportunity to play the old (dating myself) game "Red Rover", where you run as hard as you can and break through people's linked arms!

betsy (ironz) and i joked about that while we were trying to weave through them!

i'm in E corral but my friend is in O or P. she didn't submit a time. she runs about at my pace and we had planned on running together so i feel like we will be doing alot of Red Rovering if we see linked arms. may not be very princess-like.:rotfl2:

That's weird. I'm in corral C (GSC bib 20359) but I submitted a 1:58 half. This may be a silly question, but does the proof you submitted actually support a 1:50 half marathon? Because it seems they got you close to where you thought you should be, it's not as if they treated you as someone without POT.

Definitely not dating yourself, that game is a classic!

And this is exactly what I thought when I read about people linking arms, haha

Oh man. I got a B corral bib - hooray! But I'm running with my mom, who got stuck all the way back in N. I'm not looking forward to those crowds! :headache:

Definitely not a silly question, and I'm not really sure of the answer! I submitted two proofs: a 10K that McMillan said supports a 1:58, followed by a quarter marathon (6.55 mile) that runnersworld said supports a 1:50 (could not find the quarter marathon on McMillan.) I know my POT would not support higher than a B or C placement, so I think I'm properly placed, just wished more corrals were women only! Happy to have a fellow C corral runner here!

I'm 20413!

I was looking at corrals and that only puts 1000 starters ahead of us for the half so it should be fine. I struggled the last half of race last year with the heat, hope it is cooler this year, I went from running 9mm to over 10mm. Anyway my point is I finished around 1600 last year so probably right where I should be.

That is so funny! I'll have to look for you in the corral, we are almost bib twins :goodvibes

That isn't too many people ahead of us, so I'm happy with my placement. I have been in old A for the past 2 years and this seems right. It's just going to be weird seeing so many corrals!

Definitely agree on the weather, it was just nasty last year and I was completely drenched by the end. Hoping for much better weather this year ::yes::

I am also a former Virginia girl. I went to high school in east of Richmond and lived near Roanoke for many years. Moved to NC near Charlotte hoping for a bit milder weather, but this January has just been very cold. DH grew up in Northern VA.

I did the Minnie 10k I. January and the corrals were never posted you needed to wait for your bib to know your corral. Also no I did it shirts, I hope they have one for Princess 10k.

Question, I am about 2000 spots and one corral behind my mom, who has a slower proof of time (by about 4-5 min). I updated my proof of time and got the confirmation that my info has been updated, but now I'm not so sure seeing my bib number. I emailed the track shack disney email (where I emailed my updated proof of time back in November). Is that the correct email to address this? I need all the cushion possible as I was just diagnosed with peroneal tendonitis in my right foot yesterday, and don't know how the rest of training is going to go. :headache: TIA!

I had a problem with my emailed proof of time as well.... I had emailed back in October, never received a confirmation, emailed again and did receive a confirmation but when the waivers/corrals came out I was placed in O when my DD was in F with a very close 10K proof of time. I called rundisney and was told my registration was never updated with my proof of time but I was told that I needed to email a copy of the original email that i sent with my prof of time to disneysports@trackshack.com so they could look into it. I did hear back tonight that they never updated my proof of time in error and I can go to runner relations at the expo with a printed copy of this email to have my corral amended.

Thank you! You rock!! :)

WOOHOOO! thanks for putting it all in one place Patty!!

I'm in M! I feel comfortable with that spot.

I'm in M! I didn't submit proof of time because I wasn't able to fit in any of the races around me before 12/1, so I'm pretty happy with M. :) How much time separates each corral?

Looks like I'm joining you in Corral M! :thumbsup2

Question for those non-first-timers: being in M and having three corrals behind me, how much of an additional buffer does that provide? I'm a bit concerned about some of the training challenges I've had recently, and any extra breathing room would make me feel sooooo much better. :goodvibes

I just registered last week for the 5K too and my waiver was there. When I put in my last name and birthday I had 2 waivers in 2 different links to click.

Thank you! You rock!! :)

Woohoo!!!! M for the More the Merrier!!

I'm not a non-first timer but Lisa and I are both in M and I figured out that if we are in the front of M, there will be 8000 people behind us if my math is right. I added all the bib numbers from M, N, O, and P and it came to just a touch over 8000 people. Of course give or take some people who need to drop out and add some who move back.
