I have my first 10k on Thursday that I am shooting for a specific time. The whole thing is kinda making me crazy and more nervous that it should be, so I hope to regroup, ignore the clock and just do the best I can do.
I'm with you on it making me crazy
I ran my first 2, 5K's Jan 2013, One at WDW and one on Castaway Cay. I ran both in about 39min. I'm not much faster training for my 10K on Wed. But I'm a bundle of nerves because I don't run outside, only on a treadmill and I have no idea how I'll really fare out there in the heat
I'm just going to try to do my best. I'm training at about a 12 min mile with 2min run / 1min walk. But I'm DONE at the end of a 10k and I have a half marathon scheduled for July 13th...YIKES
I figure I can just do the 10k and walk most of the rest of the way if I have to.
) so you are way ahead of me today
Awesome job !
Apparently, they ride up on bikes and place a flag on the mile marker once the 16:00 minute/mile pace has reached that mile. If you are behind it, you are at risk of being swept.
I started a "cold feet" thread a few days ago and am happy to say I've conquered my fear and registered. I'm a first-timer with no running experience but am also very much ready for this journey. This is a wonderful thread and I look forward to getting to know you all!

Starting to see some improvement though. Started off at a 15:00 minute mile pace and now down to 13:30. Let's see if I can keep this up!
