I have been running mainly in a brooks pureflow... nike free run for short runs. It has come time to replace (both actually) and since the brooks have always seemed a tad small (I have a bunion that takes a bit of a beating in them) I went with a half size bigger in the new pureflow 2's. Now... why do they have to mess with shoes when they release the new versions? "improvements" are not always a good thing. So while the toe box is great in them... I ended up with such slipping in the heel that I have big blisters on my heel after today's run. (NEVER had blisters there) So either I would have to sacrifice my bunion and go with the smaller size or my heel and stay with the larger size. So my thought is this version of the pureflow will not work for me.
So does anyone have a suggestion? Another shoe similar to the original pureflow? I like a minimalist shoe with some cushion. (so while I love my free's, they aren't great for longer runs) Problem is I do have "duck feet" as my dh pointed out to me. Wide in the forefoot (due to bunion) and then narrow at the heel.
TIA!
